"A new hope in Tokyo.
Just a year ago New Japan Fightin' Championship hosted a tag-team tournament that featured over twenty tag-teams from around the globe. Before throwin' my name in the hat alongside Jason Cashe, I hadn't competed fulltime in over two years. During that span, you could find me bouncin' from place to place, doin' one-off appearances while my partner was doin' big things under the bright lights nonstop.
One-off or not, when I entered that ring it wasn't just a part-time thing for me. I was all in, fightin' as if it were goin' to be my last match. You go big or you go home, and there's no better way of goin' home other than havin' your hand raised high above your fallen opponent. Goin' home a winner makes it all worth it.
For those of you livin' under the sun, you know exactly how that tournament played out last year. We went big and we went home as the first GPC Tag-Team Champions in the history of the company. From that moment, dPEEG was born. At first it was a word play on the GPC name, but over time, we made it our thing and now everyone in Japan wants a piece of our shit.
Since then, I've found myself actively competin', tryin' my damnedest to feed this hunger that emerged inside of me, the hunger to be the best goddamn tag-team this world has ever seen. Here we are a year later, still your GPC Tag-Team Champions. I've missed Japan over the last twelve months, and goddamn it feels good to be comin' back.
A New Hope in Tokyo, that's what they're callin' this. It's just another day at the office for me. My new hope came last year at Tag-Team-Tropolis and I haven't looked back since."

Sitting on a leather sofa in the main room of the clubhouse, Knox holds his phone in the palm of his hand. The lighting is dim and a smoky cloud hovers above him.
"It's been a long time, one year in fact, but Godzirra is comin' back to town!"
Leaning up, he places his forehead in the palm of his hand as his elbow rests against his knee. Running his fingers through his hair, he looks up at the phone.
"It's all dPEEg from here on out. A year ago we set the bar for the tag-team division in NJFC and now, it's ours to hold down and regulate.
To control to some standard or requirement.
That's exactly what we're goin' to do. We regulate. We stand before you, Asuka and Kojima, at the throne of an empire we created for ourselves just a year ago. We stand at the top of the food chain, devourin' anything that stands across from us.
Three rounds we fought our way through until finally makin' it to the big championship match against two other teams. With the GPC Championships secured above the ring, they were there for the takin'. The were there for the best team of all to climb to the top of the mountain, or ladder, and claim them as their own. We ascended above them all."
Rising from the couch, he slowly walks across the room until stopping at the bar in the far corner. Placing the phone down and propping it up against a bottle, he reaches out of the cameras view and grabs something familiar to those watching worldwide.
"This right here is what it's all about from here on out."
Holding one half of the GPC Tag-Team Championships in both hands, he looks down at the faceplate of the belt before slowly cutting his eyes back to the camera.
"Some would say our ascension was the hardest part, but I disagree. Regulatin' and keeping the tag-team division on lock is the toughest challenge that awaits us now that NJFC is back in full swing."
Placing the belt onto the surface of the bar, he turns back to the camera and stares directly into it.
"This upcomin' match in Tokyo may not be for the straps, but that doesn't mean that dPEEg is goin' to let up for one second and not come into Ryôgoku Kokugikan at full throttle. This is the first time that we get to battle in NJFC as its tag-team champions.
Sure, we've been around quite a bit lately with these championships taped up and scribbled on with a sharpie in other promotions. Whether here in NJFC or in another promotion, it doesn't matter. We will defend these championships with honor, hold the respectrum, and prove to those watchin' why we're the best team in the business today.
It just hasn't been the same. Totin' these straps with us outside of NJFC hasn't given me the same feelin' as it did when we won these in Tokyo last year. This is a homecomin', not only for the belts, but also for dPEEg."
Rubbing his beard, he pauses for a short moment before continuing.
"Last year we entered Tag-Team-Tropolis as KashVille, an old name we used in the past many years ago. Team after team, we torched the competition and in the end, dPEEg was born from the ashes.
In just under a week, dPEEg is comin' back to Tokyo, back to where it all began. When we walk down that aisle, I can picture it now. Hory chet, it's Godzirra, 'lun for your rives! By then, it's already too late."
Grabbing his half of the GPC Tag-Team Championships, he tosses it over his shoulder before extending his arm and grabbing the phone. His thumb glides over the picture before the feed comes to an end.
"If you know like I know
You don't want to step to this
It's the G-Funk era
Funked out with a gangster twist
If you smoke like I smoke
Then you high like everyday
And if your ass is a buster
dPEEg will regulate."
