Chris Madison vs. Mitsuo Shimada
Black: There's been a lot of talk about this match ladies and gentlemen. It all started on Twitter, Mitsuo Shimada making it clear that the man that he wanted was Chris Madison, the epitome of everything he despises about New Japan Fighting Championship! At New Hope in Tokyo, Shimada would then powerbomb Madison after he defeated Owen Gonsalves, making it known to the world that he had arrived in New Japan Fighting Championship!
Johnson: Arrive he has but now he's got to back up all that talk with in ring ability, which I don't doubt. This guy is somewhat of a legend within the independent circuit of Japan but now, he's in the big boy leagues going up against the biggest of them all.
Hamilton: Is there a man more accomplished than Madison in that locker room? I think not!
The arena's lights dim to black as the opening guitar riffs to "War Machine" by KISS begin to screech over the P.A. system. The video screen lights up with visual static noise. Suddenly in the center of the screen a black handprint begins pulsating to the beat of the drum that has began to play. A spotlight shines on the entrance ramp and we see Chris Madison standing with his head bowed under a black towel, wearing an official FGA licensed t-shirt that says, "Always Ready For War," across the chest. He nods his head to the music and as the chorus breaks he rips the towel from his head and tosses it into the live audience, starting his way down the ramp toward, the ring.
Better watch out 'cause I'm a war machine
Better watch out 'cause I'm a war machine
Mai Kado: "Coming to the ring from Long Island, New York, weighing in at two hundred twenty pounds and standing six feet tall, "Mayhem" CHRIS MAAADDIISSOONN!!!"
Madison makes it to the base of the steps and places one foot down before scoping out the fans directly behind him by peering over his shoulder. He smirks as the live audience sings along to the entrance music and then marches up the steps and climbs through the ropes. He immediately leaps up onto the middle rope and faces out towards the crowd. He brings his fists up to his face and punches his jaw with each hand before shooting his arms out horizontally with his hands wide open, welcoming whatever challenge is coming his way. Madison hops backwards, bouncing off of his feet and turns towards the center of the ring, snarling and ready to go...
Black: Chris Madison grew up in the suburbs of Long Island, New York. Ever since he reached an eligible age, his father pushed him to compete in all forms of hand to hand combat. It became second nature and a trend that continued throughout high school and a few years of college before finally turning to Professional Wrestling at the age of 20. Madison made an early name for himself for his adept ability to take punishment. Often being showcased like a sideshow in all forms of "Extreme" wrestling matches before finally catching his first big break with OWF, a developmental territory of ICW. From there he bounced around, eventually landing in Pro Championship Wrestling. Once again showing great promise, Madison was a fixture amongst names like Brad Jackson, Spiral, Pat & Ian McCoy, and Big Daddy Kraven. But for once in his life, Madison wasn't the star. As good as he was, he couldn't find room at the dinner table with Brad Jackson and Spiral gaining most of the spotlight. Madison once again bounced around before eventually leaving North America to take his talents to Japan where he perfected his craft. It took six years before Chris Madison returned and he picked up right where he left off, joining APW and becoming their Overdrive Champion with only a few months under his belt. Along with the APW Overdrive Championship, Madison earned the honors of becoming the first CXP Heavyweight Champion and the Second-to-None Champion, both titles he held as the promotions closed their doors. Coming off of a successful 220 title defense against arch nemesis, Brad Jackson, there was no doubt that the fire to compete still burned and Frontier Grappling Arts seems the likely destination. In a short stint he and partner Tommy Knox made a push for the FGA Tag Team Championships but came up unsuccessful. Madison took a short period of time off to let the bumps and bruises that come with the wrestling business heal up and found his way to 4CW, debuting at Ante Up in July of 2015. Over the past year he has remained undefeated, locking up with the best 4CW had to offer while earning their 4CW Pride Championship. After a bitter contract dispute, Chris Madison decided it was best for him to walk away from 4CW, surrendering the Pride Championship, touring around different promotions until finally signing a contract for a second run in FGA. It was there he suffered his first defeat over a fourteen month undefeated stretch at the hands of Annie Dupree in the second round of the Wildcard Lottery Tournament. Chris refused to get discouraged by his failure and eventually worked his way into the FGA Pride Championship picture, capturing the belt at Only The Strong Survive in his second five-star championship match against the highly talented, Molly Reid.
Johnson: Where do you get all of this garbage?
Hamilton: You heard of the internet, Dirge?
As the opening of Stardust by Kazsin plays through the speakers, the arena falls to silence as the lights also dim down. Strobe lights of red and gold suddenly shine towards the stage and emerging from the back is "The Savior, The Myth, And The Legend" Mitsuo Shimada, who has a stern look on his face as he stands on the top of the entrance ramp. He's all suited up, with his hands tied behind his back, he looks down and closes his eyes.
Mai Kado: Making his way to the ring, weighing in a two hundred and twenty five pounds.. Your Savior, The Myth and The Legend, MITSUO SHIMADA!
Opening his eyes, he looks back up as Kado finishes her sentence and within his eyes you can see the evil beneath. He smirks as he makes his way down the entrance ramp, jeers coming from all over the arena but he doesn't care. He's blocked out the noise of the crowd and his sole concentration is now on the ring. Reaching the edge of the ramp, he pauses once more and looks inside the ring, nodding his head before walking around the edge of the ring and mocking the fans around him. He then jumps onto the apron and latches onto the ropes, inhaling, exhaling, before entering the ring. He takes off his pants from the bottom, extinguishing them before taking his blazer and shirt off, throwing that out of the ring too, with staff on the go to collect those items.
Black: Primarily known for his time spent within the wrestling scene of Japan. He is, somewhat of a star, or at least a star in the making. His time has been divided between numerous independent promotions within Japan, but now that he's come to New Japan Fighting Championship, he's looking to become the number one wrestler in Japan. Mitsuo lost his father at the age of nine, when he was a killed in a supposed freak accident however there have been many claims throughout the years that his father was in fact murdered, despite this, these claims have been ignored by authorities. He was raised by his mother and uncle, the brother of his father, who was a amateur professional wrestler and helped Mitsuo through his troublesome years. As a teen, he'd grown angry at the world and to vent out his anger, his uncle would often take him to the local gymnasium, where they'd spar and train for long hours in the day, often missing school to do so. Although not being the perfect student in terms of behavior, academically he was superb and regarded as a genius by many of pupils and teachers. But he wasn't interested in academics. Through his training, he developed an interest in the arts of professional wrestling.
Johnson: Humbling story, I like this guy and despite what you guys think about him, I think he's got a ton of talent, potential, and it was a smart move to pick Madison, what a way to make an introduction.
Hamilton: We'll soon see if it was a smart move Dirge, as this match is underway!
DING DING DING!
The arena falls to silence as the two men glare at each other from opposite sides of the ring. So much had been said and finally, these two had the chance to lock horns. Madison had his hands on his knee's whilst Mitsuo leaned back against the corner, watching Madison carefully who begins to move. The two circle the ring, slowly and gradually, they come together in the center with words being exchanged. Mitsuo smirks and lifts his arm up in the air, receiving a reaction of boo's from the audience. Madison, looks to the audience to his left and then his right, nodding his head at both of them and receiving a huge pop of adulation. It's clear who they want to see emerge as the victor. And from the look on Mitsuo's face, you can tell he doesn't like that fact, no one bit. The two continue their circuit of the ring, coming together with a collar to elbow tie up with Madison quickly locking Mitsuo in a side headlock. Mitsuo pushes Madison back into the ropes and manages to launch him over to the opposite set, with Madison coming back and connecting with a hard shoulder barge to send Mitsuo down to the canvas, who immediately rolls to the outside of the ring.
Black: Shoulder from Madison may have been harder than Mitsuo expected, he rolls to the outside, and you can tell by the look on his face - he's calculating what it's going to take to beat Chris Madison. This isn't just any other opponent, Mitsuo Shimada has thrown himself in the deep end to face one of the best wrestlers in the damn world.
Johnson: He know's what he's got himself into, he also trusts in his own abilities enough to challenge him, that in itself takes a lot of balls. I mean to powerbomb him on his debut, quite a way to make a statement if you ask me Robbie.
Hamilton: Statement yes, but was it wise? What Mitsuo Shimada has ultimately done is awaken a beast and I'm not sure if he's prepared for Mayhem Chris Madison.
Reaching for the ropes, Mitsuo hops onto the apron and Madison storms over, forcing Shimada to jump off of the apron and walk around the edge of the ring once more, running his fingers through his hair as his cold eyes met Madison's. Madison invites him back into the ring with a gesture, backing off to for assurance and Shimada hops onto the apron and stands there for a moment. Slowly, he gets back into the ring and this one is back underway, with the two men circling the ring again. Collar to elbow tie up in the center with Madison pushing Shimada back into the ropes, the referee beginning a count and Madison slowly lets go of Shimada, who reverses the predicament so that now Madison is on the ropes. There's a moment of brief stillness but Shimada slowly lets up, backing away a little, faking the strike and then patting Madison on the chest. He walks backwards, gracefully smiling and Madison watches him carefully, with the two circling the four sided circle once more. Collar to elbow and this time Mitsuo gets in behind Madison, who holds his body down and reverses so that he's now in behind. The two alternate with positions before Madison gets a clean break, grabbing Shimada by his wrist, wrist lock applied but Shimada turns it around, wrist lock applied, wrenching his arm round and pulling down on it. He then brought his wrist behind for a hammerlock, Madison not looking worried in the slightest uses his in ring experience to reverse the move. Shimada tries to find the loopholes out of the lock but Madison blocks and intervenes on any escape Shimada hopes to find. Shimada then latches onto the ropes to force the rope break, turning himself around as Madison let's go of his arm, his hands now on his chest, bringing himself backwards and looking as if he's going to strike him extremely hard on the chest, but a gentle pat connects instead. But then he Irish whips him to the ropes, hitting the canvas afterwards to force Shimada over, who hit's the opposite ropes, with Madison now leapfrogging over him.
Rolling backward, Shimada improvises with a diving forward roll between the legs of Madison, who runs toward him and Mitsuo helps him onto the ropes, coming back and an impressive arm drag by Shimada is delivered. They're back up but now it's Madison's turn for the arm drag which he then transitions into a brief arm bar before Shimada locks in with the body scissors but Madison kips up, on his feet - looking down at the posed Shimada who lies across the canvas, embracing the applause of the arena. Madison hasn't got time for this and walks towards Shimada who then rolls to the outside. Shimada looks into the ring and looking back at him is a man with anger, hatred, but managed to contain it with a cool exterior. Shimada rolled ever so slightly into the ring, see's that Madison is coming for him and rolls back out, shaking his head and waving his fingers as he walks around the outside.
The referee warns him to come back in the ring and Shimada rolls back in, Madison approaching - Shimada kicks him in the mid section and clubs him round the back. Madison falling to a knee and Shimada taking off to the ropes, coming back but Madison strikes him with a knee to the mid section, before engaging in a Muay Thai Clinch and pressing him back against the ropes, where he connects with a knee strike, and another, and another with Shimada latching onto the ropes to force the hold. Madison lets go eventually and walks backwards, Shimada holding onto his mid section as he stumbles away from the ropes and into the path of Madison, who lifts him up and takes him down to the canvas with a spinebuster. Rolling away, Shimada holds onto the back of his head whilst Madison rises to his feet, picking Shimada up by his hair and bringing him to the corner. Irish whip attempt, Shimada reverses, Madison hits the corner with Shimada running toward him, he lifts him up and onto the top rope, leaps up and manages to connect with a bicycle knee strike that knocks Shimada off of the top rope and crashing to the outside.
Black: High Jump Moonsault to the outside by Chris Madison!
Johnson: Vintage, Chris Madison.
Hamilton: Let's take another look at it!
REPLAY BOARD Applause rings through the arena as Madison sits in the center of the ring, breathing heavily before he rolls to the outside. Shimada is back up on his feet, holding onto his back with Madison behind him. Madison turns him around and Shimada seemed to have known all along he was stalking, immediately connecting with a forearm followed by a body slam to the outside flooring. He turns away from Madison who rolls towards the railing, using it to help himself back up onto his feet, he leans against it - and Shimada now sprints toward him, leaping up into the air and drop kicks him back into the railing, the fans around gasping as Madison hits the floor. Shimada, now caring about how he wins the match, slides back into the ring and latches onto the ropes, watching Madison rise to his feet and slide back. Shimada shakes his head, throwing Madison back out of the ring and grabbing him by his arm, Irish whip back into the barricade and walks around, taunting the fans before lifting him back up. Irish whip into the railings again and Madison arches his back whilst Shimada rolls back into the ring, breaking the count of the referee before tending to Madison, rolling him back in too. He stomps on him, chest and then his back, picking him back up onto his feet and locking him in a sleeper with Madison trying ever so hard to fight out of it. Madison reaches the ropes and then lunges toward the corner, grabbing onto the ropes either side of them as Shimada then delivers elbows into the side of his head, hard impactful elbows. Madison falls in the corner and Shimada picks him back up, flipping him into a seated position and chin lock being applied. Madison stretches for the ropes but he's in the middle of the ring. Shimada then drives his knee into his back to further damage, with Madison using his elbows as he rises to his feet, taking off to the ropes - hiptoss by Shimada, cartwheel, followed by a drop kick. Picking him up, Shimada then lifts him in a fireman's carry, gutbuster connecting afterwards and the pin attempt.

First pinfall of the contest being unsuccessful. He continues to stomp on Madison before picking him up but all a sudden, Madison bursts back into life with a forearm, forearm, looking for another but Shimada connects with one simultaneously. They both stumble back, with Madison into the corner, Shimada turns and runs toward him, Madison moves out of the way, Shimada hits the corner, turning and it's Madison on the attack with the Lou Thesz Press, once mounted delivers a total of twelve elbow strikes. Both men are up and Madison connects with a back elbow to strike him back down. Shimada is by the ropes, Madison with the Irish whip, Shimada reverses, Madison comes back off of the ropes, bicycle knee to the head of Shimada. Shimada rolls into the corner and uses the ropes nearby to help himself up, Madison is by the opposite ropes, running toward him with Shimada kicking him backward, rushing to the ropes himself, lariat attempt but Madison ducks, in behind him, he performs a Dragon suplex, to the praise of the fans.
Black: Fantastic display, Dragon suplex by Chris Madison after being at the back foot for quite a while. Do you reckon he may have underestimated Mitsuo Shimada?
Johnson: Shimada may not be as well known, or global that is, but he is deadly and watching his tapes, you can't underestimate him. I think Madison may be a little surprised by what Shimada is bringing to the table, and what he is bringing is a fight.
Hamilton: He's surprising a lot of people here in Osaka but Madison has managed to have an answer for almost everything. He's got the experience, he's got the fans, he's got the ability - I can't see this match going the other direction, but if it does, it'll be a major upset.
On the padded flooring Shimada lays and slowly rises to his feet, Madison joining him on the outside, club to the back. Shimada then turns and shows his quickness of offense, open palm to the face followed by a forearm and Madison falls back into the barricade. Shimada walks away, unaware that Madison is slowly rising to his feet. Madison starts to run toward Shimada, who turns around and is met by a running yakuza kick into the barricade by Madison, returning the favor from earlier. Picking him up by his hair, he rolls him into the ring before joining him, attempting to lock him in a heel hook submission but Shimada kicks him backwards. Madison hits the corner, coming off of them like they're ropes, lariat attempt, Shimada avoids, neckbreaker to Madison who then crawls toward the corner and helps himself up. Shimada runs towards him, boot to the face attempt, caught by Shimada, drops his leg, clothesline into the corner, followed by a belly to belly back to the center of the ring. He gets himself up onto the apron and climbs the ropes as Madison slowly rises to his feet, preparing himself, he leaps off of the top rope and missle drop kicks Madison backwards. Mounting on top of him for the pin.

Irish whip to the ropes, reversed by Madison, Shimada comes back and Madison pops him up, before connecting with a sickening codebreaker, the move garnering applause from the audience. Shimada crawls to the corner and helps himself up, holding onto his head which must be pounding after the codebreaker by Madison. Madison turns him around, waist lock, backwards roll and then delivers a German suplex on Mitsuo Shimada! Madison then rises to his feet and roars to the audience, who roar back at him. He then walks towards the ropes, latches onto them and waits for Shimada to get back up onto his feet. Once he does, Madison connects with a series of low leg kicks to Shimada who begins to shake, wobbling and holding onto his right leg, falling after Madison connects with an impressive strive before backing off, and following this with a flying knee strike! He covers him, hoping this can be enough to put him away!

Kick out by Shimada!
Madison nods his head and immediately transitions into a heel hook submission, applying as much pressure as he can with the hold, with Shimada reaching out to the ropes. Of course, Madison had now found his weak spot and that was his right leg. He continues to apply more pressure but it seems the more pressure he applies, the more desperate and more urgent Shimada would be to find an escape, managing to hook his arm round the ropes for the rope break.
Black: And Shimada gets to the ropes!
Johnson: I thought Madison may have had him beat there.
Hamilton: Shimada continuing to show what he's made of and not giving up here tonight.
"Mayhem" Madison would pick him up and perform a brainbuster to Shimada, who held onto the top of his head after the move was performed. Madison then hoisted himself up onto the top rope, positioning himself, and double foot stomp to Shimada!
The volume in the arena picks up as Madison rises to his feet and walks around the ring, nodding his head as he looks at Shimada, pumping his fists against one another before going over to him. He picks him up and Shimada counters with an elbow to the head, spinning backfist, followed by a lariat to knock them both down to the canvas. Madison has an anger from within building whilst Shimada smirks sadistically, Madison up by the corner and Shimada rushing toward him, flying forearm into him, bringing him out of the corner, back drop suplex attempt, Madison lands on his feet, Shimada stuns him with a superkick, attempts a lariat, Madison ducks, backslide pin attempt.

Kick out, and both men are up sprinting at each other, backfist by Shimada, tries to follow this with another but Madison ducks, lifts him up and over for the back drop suplex with Shimada quickly locking him in a head lock whilst doing so, so when he does hit the canvas he has the upperhand, side head lock in and he drapes his leg over for the body scissors. Madison tries to break the hold but Shimada has it tight. Madison kicks his legs out to the ropes to no prevail as Shimada tightens the hold. Madison keeping his fist up in the air and clenching it, showing strength and grit as he refuses to give up at the referee's proposal, he shouts and manages to extend his leg to reach the ropes.
Picking him up by his hair, Shimada leans him against the corner before hoisting him up onto the top rope and joining him. The volume picks up, the atmosphere becoming tense as Shimada preps himself for a super hurricanrana!

The two are on their knees and engaging in a dual of blows, forearm by Shimada and forearm by Madison, another series of these blows connecting, with the blows getting harder and harder as they work back up onto their feet. Black: COMATOSED!
Hamilton: DID YOU HEAR THAT CONNECTION!
REPLAY BOARD Black: You've honestly got to start asking questions, of how much damage can Mitsuo Shimada take before he's out.
Johnson: You're doubting him too soon Robbie! My boys got this!
Hamilton: Madison wants this match over, the sooner, the better.
Shimada is on his knee's, his head down with Madison staring at him after the shot, breathing heavily. Shimada has entered a lizard state, emotionless, not even showing whether he's hurt or not but you didn't have to see it in his face to tell, from the connection of the strike - you could tell he'd been knocked into another universe. Madison brings him back to his feet, uppercut, which wakes Shimada up, who then delivers a roundhouse kick out of nowhere. Shimada then follows this with a snap DDT, picking him back up and taking off to the ropes, bicycle knee by Madison, throws him to the corner. Black: MADISON JUST KNOCKED THE REFEREE OUT!
Looking at the ref, he briefly tends to him, trying to wake him up but he may have just fully knocked him out. Madison turns around and see's the grin on Shimada's face, who claps as he walks backwards into the corner, latching onto the ropes. Madison tilts his head sideways, a little confused as to what Shimada finds so amusing.
Black: Jumping over the barricade.. it's - Devin Hearst?!
Hamilton: What he doing out here? This is none of his business!
Boos echo through the arena as Shimada salutes Hearst who hops onto the apron and latches onto the ropes. Madison looks at Hearst questioningly, who simply glares at him, his vacant eyes glued on him.
Black: Wait is that? Is... it's -
Johnson: Jack Tillman?
From the other railing came Jack Tillman who jumped up onto the apron, latching onto it and Madison is outnumbered. He backs away, his fists up and the fans on his side as Hearst and Tillman slowly enter the ring. All hell breaks loose as the three men begin and onslaught on Madison, all circling him and delivering blows to the defenseless Chris Madison who tries his best but it isn't enough, it's three against one and now they're laying the boots on him.
Black: This was such a good match but they've had to ruin it! They've had to get involve!
Johnson: Frankie Morrison told Mitsuo he's going to need to bring an army to beat Madison, and that's exactly what he's done, brought an army!
Hamilton: An army of cowards!

Nagata grabs Tillman by his hair and throws him to the outside. Slingshot over the top rope and diving onto Tillman. Suzuki and Hearst continue their war on the outside of the ring, Suzuki focusing on exposing Hearst against the railing but Hearst isn't having any of it, sending Suzuki into the railing as the two continue their brawl among the fans. Nagata and Tillman exchange blows, two graduates of the Dojo of Dragons at it like they're sworn enemies, having teamed almost a week ago.
Black: IT'S ALL BREAKING LOOSE OUT HERE!
Inside the ring, Shimada is on his knee's, pleading to Madison who walks over to him.
LOW BLOW!Madison hits the canvas and rolls to the outside!
Shimada laughs and lays on the canvas, looking up at the heavens.
The referee is up and see's the carnage that has ensued. Black: THE EASY WAY OUT! HE'S TAKEN THE EASY WAY OUT!
Boo's echo through the arena as Shimada rolls to his feet, heading over to the ropes and latching onto them as the official gets to his fifteenth count.
