PRIDE OF PURORESU CROWN: NIGHT SEVEN
GROUP A
GROUP A
Tommy Knox vs Owen Gonsalves
The opening match of the evening was a clash of two differing philosophies to wrestling. Knox looked to be smarting from his confrontation with Chandler Scott. Owen looked primed and ready to explode into action against his opponent. As the bell rang, Gonsalves threw himself forward into a European Uppercut. The move connected, but Knox took the hit and pushed back with a hard headbutt to Gonsalves. The younger and lighter competitor is thrown back from the ferocity of the blow. As he tried to recover, Knox came around with a hard leg sweep that took the Aussie off of his feet. The young grappler hit the ground hard on his side. Without wasting time, Knox immediately started throwing vicious and dirty kicks towards the knees of his opponent. Owen tried to move away from the vicious assault, but Knox came down with a stomp on one of his ankles. The younger Aussie started to move toward the ropes, where the referee prompted the five count for Knox to back off. Knox pushed the referee, but the referee pushed back reminding Knox that he could disqualify him. The American Highlife sneered at the official but backed off slowly. As Owen tried to get up, Knox kicked inside the left knee to knock him back down to a prone position. The audience booed in disagreement with the actions of Tommy Knox, but he brushed it all aside and picked up the younger opponent. He hooked Owen into a front facelock and swung him around for a quick swinging neckbreaker.
Owen hit the mat hard, as Knox went over him with a picture perfect STF. With the legs locked into place, Owen had no means of escape in theory. Knox started working on the ankles as well, trying to bend them as far as he could take them. Mr. Indestructible looked around the ring for a means of escape, as Tommy held him into place. The California grappler cinched in the hold as tightly as he could. He looked at the referee, who kept his eyes on the hold. With a bit of a surge, however, Owen dragged his body closer to the rope. Tommy tried to pull the move back with a roll and tried to keep it back into the middle of the ring. But Owen used the momentum to bring both bodies into the ropes, prompting the official to call for the rope break. Tommy tried to hold on until the count of four. As he broke the hold, he looked toward the crowd and sneered even more. The audience let him know their displeasure towards his actions against Owen. He picked up Owen leaned him against the ropes. Without much of a thought, Knox ran back towards the opposite ropes and came back with a clothesline. However, Owen ducked under at the last moment and watched as Tommy went up and over the top rope. The larger man grabbed onto the rope with his left hand and pulled himself back up. But Owen threw a kick onto Knox's knee and grabs a wrist! Everyone in the audience looked as he slowly twisted two of the fingers to bring Knox back into the ring.
As Knox came back into the ring, Owen looked at the middle ringer on the right hand and looked to the audience. The audience took to their seats, biting their nails... He moved towards that finger and started wiggling it around slightly. Knox tried his best to get out of the annoyingly painful predicament. But when Tommy tried to throw his left jab towards the midsection, Owen came down with the finger, and the audience heard a sickening snap! Tommy rolled around the ground howling in pain, as the referee yelled at Owen for his "unsportsmanlike" move. Anyone in the audience could tell this was a mere formality, as Owen just nodded his head. Knox moved towards the referee, "He broke my f***ing finger, Charlie Chan!" As he tried to voice his complaint, Owen came back with a hard soccer kick to the back of Tommy's knee! Tommy goes down to a knee, as Owen came back around and delivered a kick to the side of Knox's head! The audience stood up as they saw Knox heading face first into the ground. Using his skills, Gonsalves put the larger legs of Knox into a Surfboard. Instead of bridging into the Romero Special, he bounced up into the air and came back down onto the kneecaps of his opponent. Knox screamed out as both knees collided with the ground. Owen looked down and tried another kick to the leg, but he didn't get as much power out of it... He moved around slowly trying to shake off the effect of the trauma to his ankles.
He looked around and tried to get his ankles to stir around, but Knox recovered in time to pull Gonsalves iinto the drop toe hold into the corner. Owen's chin connected with the middle turnbuckle hard. Knox pulled him back up by the hair and swung him around for a reverse suplex attempt. However, Owen pulled himself around and locked Knox into the Southern Cross! The double armed Octopus Stretch seems to have slowed the bigger man down tremendously. Keeping the pressure on, Owen ground his opponent down by pulling back on the wrists with all of his might. As Knox tried to move to the ground, Owen kicked the knee out and pushed him down into the mat with Krukenberg! He pulled back on the wrist, moving and pulling it back with the shoulder. Knox tried to move toward the rope, but as Owen kept pulling, he reached and snapped the middle finger again. From the overload of pain, Knox couldn't handle the trauma. Owen looked down and kept the pressure on, but the referee tapped Owen on his shoulder, giving the indication that Knox passed out from the excessive stretching!

Akio Tanaka vs Terence Tillman
This match would be one of the more astonishing displays of the evening. Akio Tanaka was showing his desperation for a win. Terence Tillman was looking to get himself out of the bottom of the rungs for the entire tournament. Tanaka was the first to try to strike with a snapping kick towards Triple T's jaw. But the younger fighter ducked out of the way and came back with a spinning back roundhouse kick that connected with the side of Tanaka's head. The God-like Dragon spun to minimize the damage and tried to pop back around with a spinning lariat. But Tillman scouted everything out and ducked under before coming back with a knee lift to the back. He followed up with a side headlock, trying to grease Tanaka up for a run to the ropes. However, Tanaka slipped behind him and threw his slightly heavier opponent back with an overhead release German Suplex. But Triple T caught himself in mid flight and landed on his well trained feet! As Tanaka popped back up, Tillman met him with a well timed Roaring Elbow to the jaw. Tanaka spun around and hit the ground hard, as Triple T stopped him in mid drop and went for an Irish Whip! As Tanaka came back around, Triple T stopped him with a hard spinning heel kick to the jaw. The audience sat down, paying close attention to the man from Orlando. He slowly went down to pin the shoulders of Tanaka. But the referee stopped at one, as Tanaka rolled his shoulder out. Shaking his head, Triple T picked up Tanaka and popped him up and over with a snap brainbuster. As he hit the canvas, the crowd roared at the impact. Tillman nodded to the crowd and went back to work.
Determined to get to his win, Tillman took he game to the ground as he set up Tanaka. Keeping him seated, Triple T moved back to the ropes and connected with a vicious Shining Black to the face of his opponent. Tanaka moved to the ground, holding his jaw. As Tillman moved down with an axe kick to the ground, Tanaka rolled himself out of the way. Another kick attempt, and Tanaka caught Triple T with the Dragon Screw Leg Whip! Tillman held his leg as Tanaka decided to change the pace. Slowly, he kicked the thigh of Triple T hard. The younger Dragon tried to do all he could to get out of this predicament, but Tanaka wasn't having any of it. He kicked the thigh again, and the audience booed the actions of the God Akio. He waved them off, as he stomped toward the thigh again. The methodical one put the leg into a grapevine, keeping Triple T in the middle of the ring and unable to use his flying abilities. Triple T looked around for the ropes, but Tanaka kept him planted expertly in the middle of the ring, stretching out the leg and straining the knee. The audience rallied to get Triple T back onto his feet, as Tanaka kept grinding down on the leg and joints of Tillman. As Tillman tried to use his reach, Tanaka slinked around to make escape difficult. The Terrific one decided to pull himself up and dragged his body and Tanaka's toward the ropes instead. Tanaka tried to dead weight himself as much as he could, but the sheer determination of Terence Tillman kept both men inching towards the ropes! As Tillman reached his arm out, the referee yelled at Tanaka to release the hold! Tanaka held on until the count of four and a half, dismissing the official as he released the hold.
Tillman pulled himself back up to his feet and kicked his leg out to get the feeling back into it. Tanaka charged towards him to give him no room for rest. Tanaka wobbled out of the corner slowly, but was met with a vicious Savate Kick to the face called the Chin Checka! As Tanaka was stunned, Triple T wasted no time moving behind him and wrapped his arms into that deadly Cobra Clutch. The fans in FGA call this the TTO or Tillman Tap Out. Tanaka held out as long as he could, but Triple T moved his arms in tighter and crushed the airway of his arrogant opponent. The referee checked for the legality of the hold, and seeing how Tillman was obeying the rules, he checked Tanaka. As the Godly one tried to stomp his way out, Tillman lifted him up and drove him to the ground, keeping the hold intact. As he pulled the move to the side, Tanaka decided he had enough of the pain and tapped out on the mat.
As the bell rang, Tillman sprung up from the ground to meet the referee. The referee raised his hand in victory, as Tillman nodded to him. In a show of his respect, Tillman bowed to the crowd in attendance as they gave him an ovation for his first win in the tournament.

Asuka Yoshiro vs Yuji Misawa
The two native sons came into the matchup looking for anything to boost them into the score charts. Misawa started out with a hard series of strikes against Asuka, hoping to topple the shorter trunk of a man. Asuka looked at his younger and lighter opponent and started throwing a series of chops and slaps towards him. Misawa answered back with the same and threw a leaping back kick to the big man's midsection! Asuka answered back with a knee lift to the gut and threw Misawa up and over with a hard snap suplex. Without stopping, Yoshiro dropped down with a falling headbutt to the sternum of the lighter opponent. Misawa flopped around in pain as the fan favorite picked himself up and pumped his fist into the air. The older Dragon picked up his opponent and dropped him down hard with a vicious double underhook brainbuster. The impact on his skull and neck stopped the momentum, if only for a moment. Yoshiro pulled the younger Dragon into a Dragon sleeper and torqued back on the neck slowly and painfully! Misawa danced around on the mat, trying to keep himself from falling asleep or tapping out. But the older veteran kept his cool and cranked up the intensity of the hold! As Misawa flopped himself around to stay away, he reached his back foot toward the ropes. Seeing the toe connect, the referee called for Asuka to release the hold! The older Dragon saw the foot and acknowledged the command.
