The camera opens and Anastasia Hayden is seen, her cold eyes piercing through the camera lens. A NJFC banner is behind her and she just lets the silence roll on for a few more seconds. Her eyes say everything they need to. A quick roll of the eyes and clearing her throat, Ana begins to speak.
"Fighting for respect...for honor...for the crowd. Why? What's the point? Takashi Shinobu fights to get respect from the crowd...how stupid must he be? People like you are so naive, Takashi. You fight so hard just to get people to clap for you, but surely someone who who has wrestled as long as you knows that by now. But...you don't, do you? You let your ignorance drive you. You don't realize that it takes just one moment and they all forget about you. They turn on you and they spit their venom at you. You want to be remembered, you want to be appreciated...but the moment that spotlight fades; you're forgotten, Takashi. That honor and respect you fought so hard for? Meaningless. Just like your career. Just like everything about you."
"They either forget about you or you just become someone they hate. They get tired of seeing you. They realize that you're nothing, but a failure. Everywhere you go, Takashi, you just seem to reek of failure. I'd call you pathetic, but we both know you already are, right? We both know that you don't have what it takes to beat me. You don't have what it takes to beat anyone in this tournament, in NJFC, or anywhere else. You might as well retire now. Hell, better yet, I'll do you a favor and end your career for you. I'll let everyone know how pathetic you truly are and I'll put you out of your misery. The shame will sting for a while, but just like everyone 'remembering' you...it too will fade away."
She holds her hand up before letting it drop; gone in an instant.
"I'm wasting my time on the pre-show because of you, Takashi. I'm not going to bitch and moan, tell you I deserve to be in a championship match or on the main card...but that doesn't mean you're not wasting my time. And I hate when people waste my time. And I know you won't be the first and you won't be the last. I mean, I look ahead at what Block A of the FIGHTING Spirit tournament holds for me...and I just laugh. Dex Russey? Craig Anderson? Am I supposed to pretend to care about any of these people? You should just be glad I'm wasting my breath on you, Shinobu. Be lucky that I'm showing up to Pride of Puroresu. I'd be more than content to show up and gift you some points. You need all the help you can get, Takashi."
"But you won't find any sympathy from me. Like I said, I want to gift you some points...but I just can't do it. You want to be loved? You wanted to be admired? I can't allow that to happen. I can't allow someone to be as delusional as you. I need to show the world what happens when someone tries to 'fight for the people'. I have to show you what a waste of time is. I won't stand here and tell you that I'm a saint, but I can tell you this: They will turn on you. When you need them? They'll abandon you. Me? I don't bother. My world is grounded in reality. Whatever fantasy world you live in, Takashi, I'll pull you right out of it and bring you down to Earth. You'll be exposed for just how sad your cause is. And then I'll expose just how poor of a wrestler you are."
A smirk; arrogance radiating through her veins now. Resorting to cheap shots, anything to get a rise out of Shinobu.
"But we also knew that too, didn't we? We're adults, we don't have to lie to each other, but you keep insisting on lying to yourself. Why? Is getting beat in the ring not enough for you? Well, if that's what you want, that's what I'll do. I'll beat you down. And I'll do that to everyone else in the tournament. Everyone that wants some points, I'll make them earn it. I'll run through this tournament if I have to and I'll leave behind bodies. I'll kill the dreams these people have of proving their worth or proving that their career is meaningful. Everyone's chasing after something, but me? Takashi, I'm just happy to be here and I'm happy knowing that I get to beat the ignorance out of these fools. I'll be the one that forces them to stand back and reevaluate their career. I'll kick their teeth so down their throat, I'll make the decision even easier for them."
She extends her arms out, like Christ or some other prophet trying to preach to their flock. The smirk turns more sinister as Ana keeps her arms held in place
"Let me be the savior of this tournament. If you really think you've got a chance, allow me to save you from your own ignorance. I'll protect you from reality, but it's going to hurt. And Takashi, if you want to keep riding the train of everyone loving you...that you're an 'honorable' wrestler. That's fine, I'll let you do that, but know when the bell rings...I'm going to do everything in my power to beat that out of you. I'm going to prove the hill you're fighting and dying on isn't worth it. I'll make you regret ever being part of this tournament, Takashi."
Dropping her arms back down to her side, Anastasia steps closer to the camera and her voices lowers to almost a whisper
"I'll make you regret ever being a wrestler."
She keeps stepping closer until all that can be seen are her eyes before fading to black.
