(We find out who is going to open things up rather quickly as the doors open and a mutter is heard around the room. Cosmo Cooper emerges from a side door, and he is wearing his best suit with a green tie. Still, he has on his traditional flat bill hat. He waves at the reporters, poses in front of the NJFC symbol and then sits down at the table.)
COSMO COOPER:Leading the way per usual. (He chuckled) Well, like. I guess I’ll open things up. As always I am so happy and honored to be wrestling in Japan again because, like, dude. It’s Japan. Everyone who has ever stepped into a wrestling ring wants to be here and wants to at least have one match in Japan, so it’s an honor to be here and win or lose I’ll always have room in my schedule for NJFC because of how they’ve reached out to me. I’ll take some questions.
(Hands shoot up and Cosmo nods to the first one off to his right who does.)
NJFC AMERICA: Hey, Cosmo. We’re glad to have you back. You’re undefeated here in NJFC, you’re one of the most popular American’s that we’ve had on the roster, but a lot of folks are intrigued by this match with Dom Harter, what are your thoughts on Dom?
(Cosmo nodded a few times and then looked down to his outfit he had on.)
COSMO COOPER:I don’t come to Japan for small matches, and like, you can look back at what I’ve worn to previous press conferences, man. If you want to know what i think about Dom, just look at what I was dressed in coming into those matches. I’m all business for this one, guys. I’ve beaten James Edwards here in Japan. I’ve beaten Ricky Valero and I’ve beaten Craig Anderson. This is my toughest challenge to date, man. And I’m not going to act like this is going to be a walk in the park. I want to deliver a five star match here in Japan with Dom and I want it to set the tone for 2018, because of what I did in 2017. I had over 50 wins. I won five championships, including 4CW gold which is something a lot of people can’t say. Dom is like, he’s a hall of fame in one of the most prestigious companies in the world. If Dom thinks I am going to take his name lightly, he’s dead wrong. I won’t rest training for that match, because I don’t want to go home from Japan with a loss… I didn’t bring my titles over with me for one reason, it isn’t about that. This trip is ALL ABOUT, Dom Harter. ”
(Another hand raised and Cosmo looked over and nodded towards the Japanese reporter who spoke and then it was translated for Cosmo.)
SPORTING NEWS JAPAN:The biggest concern people have about you, Cosmo is that you have stretched yourself too thin, and if Dom can get this match in the deep waters of 20 minutes that you may fade, because he is much more fresh. Thoughts.
(A grin spread wide on Cosmo’s lips as he nodded and adjusted his hat.)
COSMO COOPER:It’s fair, but I’m sure Dom has been in my shoes once. I was given the advice, like, when I broke in that you take every booking you can get. I’m not like some of these guys, man. I am in 4CW because they came to me. I am in GCW because they came to me. I am in NJFC because they came to me. I’m a champion in 4CW, carried the GCW belt for over 140 days, if I lose a match with one of the best in the world because I am a work horse? So be it… but 20 minutes? Ha. More like 40, I’ve gone 60 minutes to a draw twice in 2017, Dom is going to have to take me 90 to get me tired.
(Another hand raised, Cosmo was leaned forward with both of hi arms on the table before him.)
INDEPENDENT REPORTER:Cosmo, you were male of the year in 2017 in CWC. Recently you said that you represented the entire CWC better than any other wrestler on those rosters. Josh Kennedy the CWC champion took offense to those comments. What are your official thoughts on Kennedy and the CWC, tying that in with your match with Dom Harter?
(This time, Cosmo had to think about this one. He rolled his neck for a moment and tapped his fingers on the table as he finally spoke.)
COSMO COOPER:Look, Kennedy can think what he wants and puff out that chest—and I don’t want to bring him up because I want to focus on Dom, but what match has he got here in Japan? What title does he hold in 4CW? Where was his name on the contender list in AWE? What championship did he hold in XHW? What’s his record in SAP?
(Silence.)
COSMO COOPER:Exactly. Kennedy doesn’t have the credentials, all he has is a title that I don’t want to prop himself up on. I’ll use this match with Dom to further the popularity of Gulf Coast Wrestling, Octane and when I go other places I have no problem waving the NJFC banner.
(Cosmo knew time was wrapping up.)
COSMO COOPER:I gotta lot of big time matches under my belt. This match with Dom is the measuring stick. Nobody else is CWC is having these high profile matches, they call Cosmo for these, they don’t call Josh Kennedy. Dom, I want you to play close attention.
(Scooting the table back, Cosmo stood up and stared directly into the camera in the back as he nods for a moment. Very rare for Cosmo not to have a smile on his face.)
COSMO COOPER:I’m not backing down because of your experience. I’m not backing down because you’ve not had a title recently. I’m not backing down because of your name or your tout, bet your ass that i am bringing you all I have, with all of my attention, with every OUNCE of ability I have… I’m ready to hear those fans chant my name again… I’m ready for Dom Harter.
(Taking a faux-bow he tips his cap to the rest of the reporters in the room and heads out.)

Post by Jack "The Ripper" Tillman on Jan 20, 2018 16:22:34 GMT
(As Cosmo is walking off the stage, Chris Constance and his client Jack Tillman make their way to the center table and take a seat. Former NJFC star Kurt Newman’s daughter, Olivia Newman, walks behind the two of them and stands behind the two as she has Jacks NGW Five Lakes and the NGW Tag Team Titles on her shoulders. Both men are wearing thousand dollar custom made suits and Rolex watches. Jack has his hair in a bun as he leans back in his chair and burns a hole into the media. Pulling the microphone up by him, Chris begins to talk.)
Chris Constantine: Thank you everyone for showing up today. Before I start, I’d like to say that Cosmo is one hell of an individual and I’m glad that he was able to make it for Glory. Secondly there will be Dogs Of War merchandise for sale at the Glory event that will be held over at the Tokyo Dome. We know that The Dogs Of War have been wrestling in numerous companies from all over the world, but we know where we started. Right here in NJFC. Lastly it is confirmed that my client Jack Tillman will be part of the Glory Cup. So with this being a press conference, let’s get some questions in.
(A sea of hands are raised as everyone tries to get their question in. Looking around Chris finally points out someone.)
NJFC America: Will the entire roster of the Dogs Of War be participating in future NJFC events?
Chris Constantine : We are currently working something out. There might be something with a talent exchange between NJFC and Kamikaze Pro where it might be possible. But as of right now no.
(Again, hands are raised from the media. This time around though some of the reporters are talking over one another to get their question. It gets to the point where one of the reporters gets his question out loud enough to where it drowns out the rest of the questions.)
Independent Wrestling News : With your client being in the Glory Cup, is there anyone else that you think can compete with him?
Chris Constantine: Well the only competitors that have been scheduled to be apart of this Cup is Hiroyoshi Suzuki and Yuji Misawa. Two good hands in the wrestling industry, but they’re nowhere close to the talent of Jack Tillman. You name any promotion that Jack Tillman is in and you try to tell me that he isn’t a dominant force in any those organizations. So I don’t know who else NJFC is going to bring in, but they better be good because this Glory Cup is going to be a cake walk for Jack with the current people involved in it.
(Before any of the reporters can ask the next question, Jack points at a single reporter in the front row. The reporter is confused at first but finally gets his question out.)
Sporting News Japan: Mr. Tillman. Do you think you can win this battle royal and go on to face the future GPC World Heavy Weight Champion? Either it be Chris Madison or Chandler Scott?
(Jack slowly grabs the microphone and brings it to his side as he stares a hole into the reporter that just asked the question. With a soft tone his voice, he replies to the question.)
Jack Tillman: I’ve been in NJFC since day one. I was part of its first card. I was one of its first recruits in its Dojo. This company has helped make me the man I am today and I’m grateful for everything that it’s done for me. But it’s not like my time here has always been sunshine and butterflies. This company beat the living shit out of me on a daily basis when I was part of its Dojo. I did more choirs than anyone else. Took more ass beatings than everyone else. Hell I have trouble hearing in one of my ears because Master Yuto slapped the living crap out of my ear. I was called the Blue Eyed Gaijin on a daily basis by my teachers and students because I was the only foreigner in the Dojo. And while young boy after young boy left......I stayed to continue the assault both mentally and physically.
(Jack pauses as he collects himself. The tension in his voice and face can be seen by everyone as Jack remembers old memories from his time in NJFC. After a few seconds breathing, Jack goes back to talking.)
Jack Tillman: I was glad when NJFC reopened its doors early last year. Mostly because I wanted to show everyone what I had become. But now that it’s reopened its doors for the hundredth time......I just want to grab one of its titles and hold onto it as long as I can because sooner or later NJFC is just going to close its doors again. So why not have a piece of its gold while it tries to figure what the hell its going to do. I deserve it don’t I? After all the crap this company made me go through. So I don’t care who has the damn Heavy Weight Title. Because when I win this piss poor excuse of a battle royal and face off against the Heavyweight Champ.....I’m going to beat the living crap out of them and the Heavyweight Title will be Kōzan! You hear me! Kōzan!”
(Standing up Jack makes his way off the stage. Olivia soon follows leaving Chris by himself. Chris forces a smile but quickly follows his client.)

Tillman closes the door behind him, leaving the crowd of journalists and reporters and guests waiting in anticipation at the arrival of the next wrestler. The door slides open and there's a collective applause in appreciation as Owen Gonsalves and Ace Watson walk through the doors. Gonsalves decided to dress rather dapper in a white button-up, navy dress pants and a navy sports coat. The top button of his shirt is undone for more business casual look, but this is balanced out by the all business, Kamikaze Pro Tag Team League Championship draped proudly over his shoulder. Ace was dressed much more casually than Owen, he wore black jeans, a SHOOTCAMP T-Shirt and a cap. He smiled as he walked out alongside his tag partner, and gave a little wave and nod of the head to a few people who called things out to him. The two men raise their championships up as the photographers click away, they pose in front of the NJFC logo before taking their seats at the table.)
OWEN GONSALVES: Tomorrow night, two of Japan's best tag teams will meet inside the biggest arena in this country. Shootcamp. dPEEg. Tokyo Dome. If that doesn't get you excited? If that doesn't get you interested? Then I promise you that'll change once the match is through…
(Gonsalves has an air of confidence about him, but there's a clear emphasis on the importance of the match just in his tone alone. He looks to Ace for his opening words.)
ACE WATSON: That's right, you will not want to miss one of the hottest tag teams going up against the NJFC Tag Team Champions. We’ve proved everywhere we’ve been that we can steal the show, whether it be in FGA in the Dynamic Duos tournament, Kamikaze Pro where we defeated the best tag teams from across the globe to become the Tag Team League Champions… Its our ability that got us to the point we are at today, both of our careers are thriving right now, and SHOOTCAMP has a big part to play in that. It'll be that same ability we have that'll have us crowned the new NJFC Tag Team Champions.
(Gonsalves nods back at his partner in agreement before both men turn their attention the group of reporters.)
Owen Gonsalves:Questions?
(Immediately, a reporter pipes up with a question for the global tag team.)
SHANE GOODE: Shane Goode, Pro Wrestling Daily Japan. You both have spoken about prior success and current success leading you to this point where perhaps you sit on top of the tag team wrestling world. However, Jason Cashe and Tommy Knox have pointed out that one of the bigger bruises in your record is 4CW’s Bad Company Tag Team Tournament where Shootcamp were eliminated in the second round. The tournament would go on to be won by Jason Cashe himself, alongside fellow Worldstar partner, Jair Hopkins. What are your thoughts about those comments?
ACE WATSON: We were still a fresh tag team back then, it was early days for SHOOTCAMP. Since then though we've teamed a lot more, and faced all kinds of opponents, all with different strengths and weaknesses. We’ve improved a lot since then, that one loss doesn't phase us.
OWEN GONSALVES: And let it be known, we didn't just lose to any old random team...We lost to Omerta in that tournament, we lost to 4CW Hall of Famer, Dakota Smith and current Pride Champion, Erron Wilder. Jason Cashe won that tournament, no taking away from that but with Knox, as part of dPEEg, they've been ghosts with the GPC Tag Team Championships.
(As soon as Owen responds a follow up question is thrown at him from a different reporter, this one has a noticeable accent.)
VICTOR KOBE: Victor Kobe from PuroresuStar.com, you mentioned dPEEg’s reign as GPC Tag Team Champions before, can you elaborate on your thoughts about the reign thus far?
(Without any hesitation at all, Gonsalves responds in return…)
OWEN GONSALVES: They defended them once against the Tokyo Knives...one defense since they won them in April of 2016. Ace, what would we have done if we were in their position?
(A grin appears on Ace’s face.)
ACE WATSON: Well we would have defended them each and every week, proving ourselves as worthy champions, Owen. We definitely wouldn't have put them on the line just once in almost two years.
OWEN GONSALVES: You're damn right. Regardless of the state this company had been in before, if it was us, we would've defended those championships everywhere and carried this company on our backs while they regrouped. We wouldn't let it sit on our mantle and gather dust...not then and not when we beat Cashe and Knox for them tomorrow night. If there's any leading example of tag champions in Japan, it's us.
(Gonsalves pats the belt on his shoulder before continuing.)
OWEN GONSALVES:When NJFC was struggling, I found myself ready to leave and I did, I told them it was time for me to part ways. But to see them resurface and fight through the problems they faced, it showed that they were willing to run through the mud for their talent. They called me and said they wanted to fix things, they wanted a team worthy of facing their, frankly, ordinary tag team championship picture, they wanted Shootcamp. Cashe and Knox deserve competition and deserve to put their money where their mouth is, and finally after nearly 2 years of holding those titles hostage...they get that and so much more.
(There's a moment of transition as another reporter finally pipes up another question. This reporter asks her question in Japanese but it is swiftly translated by the translator on stand by.)
MICHAEL KNIGHT: What would it mean for the Shootcamp brand if you were to become GPC Heavyweight Tag Team Champions here in NJFC?
ACE WATSON: Well it would be huge for us, really. We’re still a relatively new team so to be double Tag Team Champions would be quite the achievement. But also we’re not just about ourselves and our accolades, because if we take those titles there's a chance we could see other tag teams from all around coming here, to NJFC, to try take them from us. And that would be great, for us and the company, we want challengers and the company wants tag teams to liven up the division. It could work out pretty nicely if things go our way.
OWEN GONSALVES: We're six months into this being an official team, it started off with Ace and myself but Ty was always a member waiting to happen. But unofficially it's been the three of us for nearly 8 years...winning these championships don't just bolster our individual resumes but it adds to the legacy of the name we carry. We want the name Shootcamp to be synonymous with championship gold and high calibre talent the way we knew it to be, so if...no, WHEN we win the GPC Tag Team Championships, we do it for a legacy far beyond our own careers, we do it to prove that Shootcamp is the best team in Japan today and without a shadow of a doubt will be the best team in the world when all is said done.
(The determination and passion in their voices tell the story, they mean business, plain and simple. There's a short wait for another question but it seems the reporters are satisfied.)
ACE WATSON: Nothing else then?
(No response.)
OWEN GONSALVES: Very well. Tomorrow night, Shootcamp build on our legacy. Cashe and Knox will learn like everyone else that we simply...cannot...be...destroyed! Arigatou Gozaimasu.
(And with those final words, both men get up and make their exit, championship match in mind.)

Tag Team Champion

Reporters from various media outlets in Japan and America are on hand as the crowd finally settles down from SHOOT CAMP’s recent Press Conference. Whispers of gossip and conversation begin to fill the hall where the typical Conferences are held. Long tables on different levels of the stage, almost like you’d see in a gymnasium but on a smaller scale. A podium taking center stage between all the tables and seats for the various talent who will take on questions leading into GLORY.
“Nuttin But A G Thang” a party mix blares throughout the meeting hall. Their heads turn to every and all directions searching for the entrance. Searching for the GPC Tag Team Champions collectively known as dPEEg! From the right side of the stage comes Tommy Knox, the Tag Title held up over his head with one arm as soon as the spotlight shines on him. From the left side comes Jason Cashe, he has his Tag Title laid over his shoulder. The two meet near the podium and begin a game of Rock, Paper, Scissors. Cashe wins and Tommy Knox takes a seat as Cashe steps to the podium. Knox went paper by the way, and Cashe obviously went scissors because he wants to be a twitter lesbian deep down inside.
Rambling and waving their hands to get the first question, Cashe nods before pointing to one of the few Americans in audience.
US Reporter: “Matt Boone from Rajah.com. Shoot Camp is an established Tag Team. Something dPEEg has really yet to face since winning or as you won those GPC Tag Titles. Do you prepare differently for this type of challenge?
CASHE: “Every team presents a new challenge. A new set of goals to accomplish but as preparing goes? We elevate no matter if its a random pairing of two talented names or a team of people who have worked and won together beforehand. So the preparation always changes and adapts. Will Shoot Camp provide us with a solid 4-5 star match? Remains to be seen.. Next question, you.”
Japanese Reporter: (Translated) “Some say Shoot Camp is the more prestigious team due to their Success traveling to different companies and still performing at the highest of levels. Do you agree with this and if not, what makes dPEEg the better team?”
CASHE: “The Tag Team division NO matter the company is shallow waters. There are random pairings at best or boooshit and low card talent that call themselves a team. This right here? We’ve been slapping people around, winning tag matches no matter the company or gimmick that is slapped on a match since before 2010. We ARE Tag Team Wrestling. Now, Before, and until we fucking decide NOT to suit up for a match. Shoot Camp are but wannabes to what we have BEEN being. Next Ques--”
Tommy Knox slaps the surface of the table, lifts himself up and almost leaps over to the Podium. Shouldering Cashe aside some as he snatches the mic from it’s stand.
KNOX: “Tag! You, the one wearin’ the Japan fears Godzilla T-Shirt. What ya got?”
He asks while looking down to his shirt, pulling it straight from the bottom to make sure the attendees notice the “dpeeg” in large font placed over a dollar sign in the center of the world.
Asian American Reporter: “Recently on social media, Jason Cashe put out a challenge to Kamikaze Pro to hold a Triple Threat Best of Three Elimination match involving SHOOT Nation, SHOOT Camp and dPEEg for both the GPC Tag Titles and the Kamikaze Tag Titles. We never heard you’re take on this challenge. Do you support this challenge laid out by your partner?”
KNOX: “That’s happenin’ now? No? I thought we came here for a match, NOT a geometry lesson. If Shoot Camp comes into Glory as Kamikaze Tag Champions then we sendin’ them back as the SECOND best Tag Champions in all of Japan, if that’s even a thing. What happens after that? I guess we’ll measure that angle when the time comes. I couldn’t give two shits about their belts to be honest. This right here...”
Pausing for a short moment, he holds up his half of the only championships that matter in this setting.
KNOX:”This is all that matters and this is what’s comin’ home with me in a month, maybe two.”
Stepping back to the podium, now next to Knox comes Jason Cashe. Both members of dPEEg have their Tag Titles on hand and another hand in the crowd is chosen for questions.
KAMIKAZE Pro Reporter: “What happens when Shoot Camp beats you?”
The question was filled with a biased fucking disrespect. Matter of factly like it was pre-determined but this wasn’t some SOAP OPERA show! Both Cashe and Knox took offense to the question as the reporter put on a Kamikaze baseball cap to show his affiliation.
KNOX: “What happens when I walk over there and pull out my co--”
Cutting Knox off before he could go any further, Cashe grabs the mic stand and turns it towards him as he leans into speak.
CASHE: “Let me ask you a question. Why do you think they will win? Their schedules are hectic right now and while being a workhorse is admirable, it’s almost spread thin. They won’t be as fresh as we are, they won’t be as prepared for this ONE match because they have been preparing for so many others. Hell they have a match 4 DAYS after our match. So to answer your stupid fucking question, they won’t win. They will win if WE let them win and I don’t think Knox or myself have decided to disband or drop OUR belts yet. So take your bitch ass back to Kamikaze and explode because we won’t burst on impact, we won’t bust our nut upon landing. We will BE the landmines that those two punk motherfuckers will come into OUR land and step on.”
KNOX: “Our land? You my guest and I’m this land’s native son. These two gringos...”
Cashe shoulders into Knox trying to get him out of harm’s way as two men wearing masks come into the room with guns.
CASHE: “GUN!”
Shots are fired and the room fills with echoing, ear deafening noise as Cashe catches bullets to the chest. Knox pops up, rushing the shooters and takes a few himself. Both members of dPEEg are down as everyone in the room gasp and drop to the floor. The shooters flee the scene as a silence fell over the room. Moments pass as people looked towards the stage, EMTs on hand rush in and immediately check the Tag Champions. The whispering concern grows as people seem to be watching the last breaths of the GPC Tag Team Champions. Even James Peterson hurries out from the back showing worry not just over his Champions but over the human lives at risk here tonight.
One of the EMTs go to perform CPR on Cashe and the scream from him was haunting as he pops up, shoving the EMT back. Knox hurries to his feet as both members of dPEEg remove their shirts showing Bullet Proof vests. They were laughing but nobody else was as they pick up the Tag Titles and return to the podium. EMTs and Peterson both stunned in stare as was everyone else. Knox puts the mic back to his mouth.
KNOX: “Unlike me, I guess SOMEONE is out here shootin’ blanks… Much like our opponents be it a Camp or the potential of a Nation. We are not afraid of shooters when their aim is short sighted and ours is long range, one shot one kill. Ace, Owens? You boys better get with the program. Here in Japan, MY homeland! It’s a dPEEg Thang and it’s GOIN’ to remain such!”
Removing his Tag Title off the podium, Knox walks off stage. Cashe slowly removes the vest from his chest and lets it fall to the ground. Staring at the crowd, most of which are still in shock at the fake shooting bit that they put on. He places his Tag Team Championship over his shoulder and follows Knox as dPEEg are finished with their Press Conference. As the two leave the scene, Knox fired off one more round aimed at Ace.
KNOX: “Fuck your dog too! Bring Tuck to the show so we can enjoy ourselves a native dish!”

(The reporters watched as Cashe and Knox left the stage, wandering away with their tag titles slung over their shoulders. Meanwhile, Dom Harter steps up to the podium, still poking inside his ear after those gunshots. The Tenacious Little Bastard is dressed smartly, wearing a suit jacket and pants, and a white shirt underneath with the top button undone.)
DOM HARTER: I have to follow that?
(He jokes, causing a ripple of nervous laughter to run through the room. Harter grips the posium tightly with both hands, already looking exasperated as the questions start.)
DOM HARTER: Well my song and dance routine seem a bit anti-climatic now, so lets have some questions.
UK REPORTER: Adam Rossiter here with Defiant Wrestling Magazine. Dom, some might be surprised by your appearance here considering some of the incendiary things you said about NJFC in the past–
DOM HARTER: Incendiary things? What have I ever said about NJFC?
UK REPORTER: Uh, I believe it was before an encounter with Chandler Scott, you accused him of ducking his FGA duties for “some cup”. What made you change your mind?
DOM HARTER: Don’t be so serious, Rossiter. That was said to get under Chandler’s skin, not as a serious swipe. Otherwise there couldn’t cut a check large enough to get me here. I’m a man of principles.
(Harter points to himself with his thumb, that familiar crooked grin plastered on his face as Adam Rossiter takes a seat. The next reporter stands up.)
JAPANESE REPORTER: Will we be seeing you in NJFC again after tomorrow night’s GLORY event?
DOM HARTER: There’s been no talk of it yet. For now this is just a one time deal.
JAPANESE REPORTER: You have no plans to hold one of the NJFC titles?
DOM HARTER: I’ve got a promotion back home I haven’t cracked yet, I’m going to focus on that before I add to my plate. I’ve come to Japan – to NJFC – to wrestle Cosmo Cooper, and make sure these fans leave happy.
SPORTING NEWS JAPAN: Mr. Harter, do you think you can beat Cosmo Cooper?
(The reporter catches Dom by surprise, considering he was expecting a follow up question from the previous reporter. Nonetheless, he turns to find where the Sporting News Japan reporter is and Dom smiles.)
DOM HARTER: Damn, you cut right to the chase, don’t you? Let me turn that around for you: would I be here if I didn’t think I could? I like a challenge as much as the next person, but I didn’t travel half way around the world thinking I’m about to lose.
(Another reporter stands up after a moment of silence, causing Dom to take a deep breath as he awaits the question.)
INDEPENDENT REPORTER: Dom, some are calling this match with you and Cosmo Cooper a dream match. Would you use that term yourself?
DOM HARTER: Do you mean have I ever sat down and thought to myself: ‘damn, I really need to face Cosmo Cooper’? Because, I’ve got to tell you, I’m not one of those wrestlers who’s got a list of opponents they want to face. Maybe five or six years ago, but not now.
(Dom shrugs his shoulders as the reporter starts to sit back down.)
DOM HARTER: Does that mean I’m not looking forward to this? Hell no! They told me they’d find an opponent worthy of someone of my stature and, as far as I’m concerned, they’ve delivered. That’s a hell of a rookie year he’s had, and it’d put most people to shame. My only concern is they told me I’d be facing a 4CW tag champion. And the GCW champion…
(Dom looks over his shoulder towards where he knows the other wrestlers are standing, a coy look on his face after taking those cheap shots.)
DOM HARTER: Bygones! But seriously. The first loss was rough, the second one – in that Lone Survivor–no, Sole Survivor, sorry. Man, that was heart breaking to watch. And as sure as I am that I’ve got something to prove at GLORY, I know Cosmo wants to bounce back in emphatic fashion. He says he’s ready for me? Great. Because I’m the Tenacious Little Bastard! I leave my mark wherever I go, be it through title reigns, grand slam victories, Hall of Fame inductions, or giving wrestling fans matches they will never forget. And tomorrow night falls firmly into the latter category. Two of the best young wrestlers around going one on one for the first, and maybe only ever time. Dom Harter making his NJFC debut. The unbeaten Cosmo Cooper going up against one of the behemoths of the wrestling industry. This is what wrestling is all about, and if I have to push Cosmo for sixty, ninety, or a hundred and twenty minutes – I will. Because I’m the Tenacious Little Bastard, and I came here for a goddamn fight!
(With that, Dom steps away from the podium and leaves the stage with a swagger in his step.)

(As the door closes, it reopens and this time it's the challenger for the NJFC Global Championship, Anastasia Hayden. She steps up to the podium wearing black jeans, a zipped-up black leather jacket, and a backwards snapback. A disinterested look is upon her face as she looks around the room at the reporters.
ANASTASIA HAYDEN: "Alright, let's get this started. I don't really want to be here anymore than the rest of you. I'm only here because I have to be. I'd much rather be in a ring right now showcasing why I'm the absolute best talent; foreign or domestic here in NJFC. Do yourselves a favor before you even thinking about asking a question and don't waste my time."
(Ana sighs as she rolls her eyes)
ANASTASIA HAYDEN: "Let’s go."
(Hands go up and Ana half-heartedly nods toward one of the reporters)
TOKYO SPORTS WEEKLY: "Your upcoming match here against Mitsuo Shimada marks the second time you'll compete for the NJFC Global Championship. Last time, you fell short of capturing it against Bryan Williams, what's your approach heading into this one to make sure you leave with the NJFC Global Championship?"
ANASTASIA HAYDEN: "To win. What else would it be? Look, I'm not about winning championships and glorifying gold for something that it's not. Anytime I step into a NJFC ring, my goal is to win. Or at the very least, fight until I've given it my all in that ring. Simply fight until I’ve got nothing left. If I just so happen to win the belt, great. If not, I don't care. Which means I don't care about the Global Championship around Shimada's waist...I'm here to beat him. Plain and simple."
(More hands raise and the next reporter stands)
PURORESU ONLINE: "Some would say that you deserved to be the first challenger for the NJFC Global Championship after Bryan Williams was forced to vacate due to injury, would you agree with that assessment?"
ANASTASIA HAYDEN: "I'd say yes, but I'm not trying to look like one of these tryhards with some chip on my shoulder. Should I have been challenging for the Global Championship last time? Sure. Do I care? No. It doesn't really matter where I'm at or who I'm facing...I'm just here to showcase why I'm the absolute best in the world. I go out there to remind the world who Anastasia Hayden is. I don’t need to prove it, but for some people like Shimada and everyone else back there? A reminder is nice."
(The reporter sits and the next one’s at bat)
GLOBAL WRESTLING BLOG: "Going back to what you said, wouldn’t you say that being a champion of any sort is a strong indicator of being ‘the absolute best in the world’?”
(Ana smirks and scoffs at the question, her eyes narrowing as she looks at the reporter)
ANASTASIA HAYDEN: "Look, I could be like one of you jerk-off reporters trying to sensationalize shit like this, but I won’t because I’m better than you. Shimada holding the NJFC Global Championship doesn’t mean a damned thing to me. Anyone with half a brain would know that anything can happen on any given night. The biggest star in the world can lose to the biggest joke.”
(A slight chuckle from Ana at the thought)
ANASTASIA HAYDEN: "Ask me...why proudly hold up a piece of gold if one fluke can take it away? I’m not a wrestler who has gotten to this stage by becoming a fluke champion. Or being a fluke just in general. I’ve gotten here because I AM the best at what I do. And I’ll continue being THE best at what I do. Win, lose, or draw...it doesn’t matter because I’ll go out there and remind everyone just how fucking good I am.”
(Ana nods along statement)
ANASTASIA HAYDEN: "I’ll do that by beating Mitsuo Shimada. If he wants to prop himself up on the Global Championship, he’s more than welcomed to do so, but when I snatch it away from him? When I embarrass him in the Tokyo Dome? None of that will matter. What will Shimada have when I take it all away? NOTHING! Me? I’ll still have my skill and ability that shows why no one here in NJFC or anywhere else can match me. Shimada, I’m sure you’re good, but you know deep down in your heart...you know that I’m better.”
(Tapping her just above her heart, Ana smirks again)
ANASTASIA HAYDEN: "I prove that everywhere I go. I do it in 4CW, in Liberty, in any CWC company, and I’ll continue doing that here in NJFC. Shimada, do me a favor and understand that I’m not going to preach why I deserve to be the champion or that I should...I’m going to go out there and show why you don’t deserve it. My goal is to embarrass you. And if I just happen to win the NJFC Global Championship? Then my goal will be to embarrass anyone who THINKS they deserve to be anywhere near me.”
(She glares across the room, aiming to get her point across)
ANASTASIA HAYDEN: "How’s that for an indicator for being the best in the world?”
(Ana shoots a cold glance at the reporter before looking back at the rest of the room)
ANASTASIA HAYDEN: "Right. Thought so. Shimada? Do whatever you need to beat me in the Tokyo Dome. Find that fighting spirit that made you the NJFC Global Champion...and come to terms that it’ll never be enough. I’m not looking to win the belt, I’m looking to completely and utterly beat you. And when it’s bell time? I hope you’ve got all your affairs in order because I’m doing everything in my power to make sure neither one of us is walking out of the Tokyo Dome.”
(With that, Ana nods before stepping to the side from the podium and allowing the photographers to snap a few pictures before exiting the room for the next appearance)

Post by シマダミツオ - Mitsuo Shimada on Jan 26, 2018 8:08:47 GMT
(For Mitsuo Shimada this was a chance to prove his detractors wrong, not that he cared what they thought, but there was a great amount of people who had already written him off. But that was all about to change, he thought to himself as he made his way up to the podium, draped on his shoulder his Global Championship whilst buckled around his waist was his newly won KAMIKAZE Pro Gatekeeper Championship. He placed his championship belt down and planted his hands onto the sides of the podium, wearing a grey suit and tie with a "Dogs of War" cap to complete the attire.)
MITSUO SHIMADA: Cry havoc, and let slip the Dogs of War.
(He spoke in his native tongue, perhaps the first competitor who had appeared to do so. This fact alone saddened him but he done well to hide his sadness, instead, what he showed was anger. A great anger to the lack of respect shown by the Global Puroresu Crown committee who'd evidently gone back on their word and hired more gaijin talent than investing in their own. He couldn't respect that. Whilst he invited the challenge of talent from all over the world, he also wanted to see opportunities be given to those who were training hard in the Dojo of Dragons. He cleared his throat, lifting up the bottle of Smart Water assigned to every competitor before him and taking a sip out of it.)
MITSUO SHIMADA: We are our worst enemies. The only person who is stopping me from retaining this championship on Sunday isn't Anastasia Hayden, it's me. I am the master of my fate and captain of my soul. And to be honest with you, I'm starting to question whether I even want this championship belt. I'm starting to question whether this is even worth it. Whether you deserve a champion like me. You know what I see when I look at this championship belt? I see it's predecessors. I see Bryan Williams, Kurt Newman, and Johnny Bonecrusher. Where are they now? They all went as soon as they saw the first sign of trouble. This championship belt, except from my boy Hearst, has belonged to a line of bitches who aren't worthy to be in the same category as me. Because I'm not leaving. I'm not abandoning New Japan Fighting Championship, despite the Global Puroresu Crown putting their best efforts forward to try and get rid of me. Ana... I don't care about this belt.
(Holding it up, he looked at it.)
MITSUO SHIMADA: But with every championship defense, I discredit everything those former champions mean't. Everything they represent becomes tarnished with every single defense I have. And as their legacy and significance tarnishes, my love for this championship belt gradually gets stronger. It's funny how things work out that way, isn't it? Ana, I understand that you don't want this title. You just want to come out here and try and beat me senseless, and I respect that. Because you're honest. You're here because you wanna tear the house down and get that win. You're not here to win championship belts and then leave when you feel like it. I can't respect that. Despite my admiration for you, that doesn't change how I'm going to treat you this coming Sunday.
You have this idea. This idea that this championship belt means everything to me but you couldn't be any more wrong. You see the thing is, I don't need this championship belt, it needs me. It needs me as a beacon of hope. I am the beacon of hope at the end of the tunnel when it comes to this promotion. The hope, that maybe - just maybe, the Global Puroresu Crown will take a chance on our native talent. And if they don't? Well then, I guess I'll just have to force my way through the door, just like I've been doing. New Japan Fighting Championship remains the biggest promotion in Japan but it's not because of the difference in culture. There's nothing different. It's the biggest promotion in Japan because it relies on imports who are nothing more than tourists. But you know this already, Ana.
(He lowered his championship belt, taking another sip from his bottle.)
MITSUO SHIMADA: I'm not answering questions. No, not on my time. On my time, you're going to listen to me and everything I have to say. Ana, I've wanted to face you for a long time. I've wanted to face you because at this current moment, you're one of the best in the world. I hear you've got the world in your hand over in the West and I can only respect that. But we're not in America. This isn't Four Corners. This is my playground. And in my playground, we play by my rules. You're in the land of the Dogs and as you know, it's a been a doggy dog world ever since the Dogs of War entered the scene. And it isn't changing any time soon.
(Abruptly, he stepped down from the podium and grabbed his championship belt and bottle, refusing to answer to the sea of hands that shot up.)

Post by Yuji Misawa on Jan 26, 2018 9:47:20 GMT
(From one native to another, Yuji Misawa walks into the room with a smile on his face and his hand up, waving at the members of the press who can make it today. He brushes pass the Global Champion as he makes his way to the podium, hands in his pockets and head down as he reaches it. Once again he waves at everyone in attendance, a massive grin on his face.)
YUJI MISAWA: Hello, friends. I will be taking questions right away.
(Like Shimada, he speaks in his native tongue and after finishing his sentence hands in the room shoot up.)
TOKYO SPORTS REPORTER: Hello Misawa. We haven't seen you since the Pride of Puroresu Crown tournament. How have you been and what have you been up to?
(He doesn't answer straight away, keeping his hands in his pocket, he takes a few seconds before answering.)
YUJI MISAWA: I've been working hard in the Dojo. I haven't really been on social media or keeping up with what's been going on over the last few months. It was important for me to recuperate. The Crown series was a long and grueling schedule and it affected me more than I anticipated. I managed to get a few wins under the belt but nothing credible. It wasn't good enough for my liking. But it is what it is and since then, I have improved. I have been good. I've been very busy but being busy is good.
DRAGONS DOJO REPORTER: What are your goals in 2018 if you have any?
YUJI MISAWA: My goal is to always be the best I can be. I need to get more wins under my belt and that all starts tomorrow night. I need to get big wins, not wins against nobodies but wins against people who actually mean something. People who can actually challenge for the top championship belts and so on. I think this Glory Cup Gauntlet is a great opportunity to get some credible wins. As we know Suzuki will be competing. As will Jack Tillman, who's known to be a trailblazer in this business, I think he's very good at what he does and he's been here since the reopening back in 2015. I want to be the ace in this promotion. I want to be a representative of the Japanese talent. I'm not going to bitch and moan about Japanese talent being at an all time low. That doesn't concern me.
(A subtle dig at Mitsuo Shimada causes some chuckles to linger in the air.)
YUJI MISAWA: I can only do what I can do, and what I know. I know that I can get to the top of this promotion. But that comes with hard work and dedication and that starts now rather than later. I think Shimada is stupid for blaming the Global Puroresu Crown committee for the lack of Japanese talent being here. There's plenty of talent that aren't stepping up and I think it's because they're scared. They're scared because this is bigger than they know, this promotion has become international in such a short space of time. Regardless, I respect his opinion as I respect everyone's.
(Another arm shoots up.)
RACHEL KENSHIN: What would it mean to you if you manage to win the first ever Glory Cup Gauntlet?
YUJI MISAWA: Honestly? It would mean the world to me. I know it's not as desirable as other accolades here, but it's an accolade. It's a stepping stone. A stepping stone for bigger things. If you win this cup you book yourself an NJFC World Heavyweight Championship match. The most prestigious championship that this company has to offer. You've already catapulted yourself to the top of the card from just one match, one opportunity. That's insane! But I know this isn't going to be easy. Tillman will want this. He's accomplished, proven and trained here. I know how good he is. As is Suzuki. He has something to prove. There's a lot of talk about him but nothing to really back him up. But I think that will change soon. But not tomorrow night. Tomorrow night, is my night and anyone who decides to enter the match, I wish them good luck. But tomorrow night is my night and there's nothing they can do about it.
(Already, there's another hand that shoots up from the members of the press.)
TAKAMURA: Yuji, Chris Constantine has previously said that you are nowhere near the level of Jack Tillman... thoughts?
(Misawa chuckles, nodding his head,)
YUJI MISAWA: Yes, I heard what he said. Fair enough. He believes what he wants to believe. Tillman has honed his skill, traveled from Mexico to London, to Italy and all over the world. He's not the same blue eyed gaijin we all remember when we first started, he's something else now. But I too, have advanced. Though I don't flock myself from promotion to promotion, I've been working harder than I ever have in my career and if Tillman believes that this is going to be an easy walk in the park then he's sadly mistaken. I have a funny feeling that this may come down to the two of us because evidently, we want this more than anyone. And if it does come down to that... well, I can honestly say that you'll be in for an A star match from the both of us. Either way, I'm happy to be back in New Japan Fighting Championship and I cannot wait for the opportunities that I will earn. Thank you.
(The Break Heart nods his head before making his way off of the stage, posing for the cameras before leaving completely.)

Post by Chandler Scott on Jan 26, 2018 23:06:28 GMT
(Up next is reigning World Champion Chandler Scott. Chandler cradles the championship in his arm. The champion adjusts the microphone before addressing the gathering of reporters in front of him.)
CHANDLER SCOTT: Thank you. It is an honor to stand here alongside some of the premier talents of our industry...
(He gesticulates with his arm to the wrestlers behind him.)
CHANDLER SCOTT: ... just as it's an honor to stand here as your World Champion. You know, a lot has been made of the recent name changes to all the Championships in NJFC. In my opinion, you can put whatever series of initials on this title that you want. You can call this championship whatever name you'd like. But after GLORY...
(Chandler slowly turns and looks in the direction of Chris Madison)
CHANDLER SCOTT: ... you will still be calling me your World Champion. I'm sure my challenger disagrees. Of course, that wouldn't be the first time he's been wrong. And as long as he continues to go up against me... it won't be the last.
(Chandler says the last line deadpan before turning his attention to the group of reporters. He gestures with his hand in front of him to signal that he's ready for reporters.)
DAVE SCRIVEN: You and Chris Madison wrestled a five star classic for the championship in your hands. Think back to that night and give us your thoughts.
CHANDLER SCOTT: I thought it was a great match. What more could you ask for, really? The Pride of Puroresu brought together a collection of talent, from contracted and free agents to neitibu and gaijin. In the end, you had two men standing at the top of their respects blocks. Myself and Chris Madison. It was a great match. It pitted two men against each other who were arguably at the top of their game. This was a Dream Match for many of the fans of our sport. In the end, I proved that I was the better wrestler. Just like I will prove again at GLORY. The quality of that match should have been the story. But the actions of a certain someone overshadowed what was a classic matchup.
TOKYO SPORTS WEEKLY: You just alluded to the attack after the match on you by Chris Madison, Tommy Knox and Jason Cashe. Your thoughts?
CHANDLER SCOTT: You were all there. What more really needs to be said? His actions spoke for themselves. In the aftermath of the main event, every head bowed and every tongued confessed that Chris Madison was the bitch we all thought he was from the start.
(A nonchalant shrug from the champion)
NJFC AMERICA: Would you care to elaborate? When confronted on the issue, Madison claimed his emotions got the best of him.
(Chandler scoffs at that piss-poor attempt at reasoning)
CHANDLER SCOTT: Oh? So he was simply frustrated, is that what I'm supposed to be believe? He "lost his cool"? Look, him slapping away an attempt at a handshake would be him "losing his cool". Him shoving me after the match would have been his "emotions getting the better of him". What happened after the match was a well coordinated attack by three men while Frankie Morrison hopped, skipped and pranced around the ring with his pom poms in the air. "Oh don't be mad, you guys. I simply let me emotions get the better of me. I promise that's all it was!" Really!? F*ck outta here!
CHANDLER SCOTT: This man over here had a 14 month undefeated streak. 14 months! How did it end, you ask? By a low blow and a roll up! Did his "emotions get the better of him" then? Did he "lose his cool" then? No! Why? Because regardless of getting screwed over, at the end of the day, he respected the person that beat him. When he finally won gold in FGA, only to lose it via pulled tights, did his "emotions get the better of him"? Did he "lose his cool"? No. Was he pissed? Absolutely. Pissed to the point of attacking his opponent? No. Why? Because regardless of getting screwed, at the end of the day, he respected the person that beat him. Yet when yours truly beats him fair and square in the middle of the ring, that's when he loses all control? No. I'm not buying the BS he's selling. You see, Chris Madison never respected me in the first place. That's why he wanted to turn this into a dick measuring contest from the start. "I'm Mr. NJFC. No one bleeds NJFC more than me. When I beat Chandler, he'll show his true colors and leave." Well guess what, motherf*cker? I beat you in the middle of that ring. I said I was the better wrestler. I then went into the ring, dropped you on your ass and proved it for the world to see. Then we saw your true colors reveal themselves. Hmpf!
CHANDLER SCOTT: You want to know why that really pissed me off? Because he's the one putting on the facade. Mr. Honor, Integrity and Respect over here. Yet where was his honor then? Where was his integrity then? Where was his respect then?
SPORTING NEWS JAPAN: Do you respect Chris Madison?
CHANDLER SCOTT: I acknowledge his abilities as a wrestler. Downplaying them would be irresponsible. But no, I don't respect Chris Madison. As a wrestler or as a man. Simply put, F*ck Chris Madison...
CHANDLER SCOTT: People think that because the first match was so great and because we both co-won a Best Technical Wrestler Award that this is going to be another masterpiece. No. I'm not interested in trading holds and reversals with him. This is going to be a dog fight. This is going to be a war. This is going to be me beating the breaks off of him and making sure that leaves Tokyo the same way he entered...
(Chandler turns in Madison's direction)
CHANDLER SCOTT: ...bitter and beltless

Post by Takashi Shinobu on Jan 27, 2018 0:00:20 GMT
(It's a tall order to follow up the NJFC World Heavyweight Champion but it's one that Takashi Shinobu decides to take.)
TAKASHI SHINOBU: Hello, ladies and gentlemen.
(He's English is broken, but he's trying at least, a few chuckles around the room force a smile out of him.)
TAKASHI SHINOBU: I will be taking questions now, thank you.
TOKYO SPORTS: Takashi, you've spent a lot of your time over the past couple of months over at Red State Revolver. What have you learned from your time away?
TAKASHI SHINOBU: I think it's important for any native to take some time and develop. That's what I done when I made the move to Revolver last year. It was not easy. It was difficult but it was a challenge and that's what drew me to it when the offer came to me. I am grateful that I am still under the umbrella there. Leon Cashmere treats me well and so do all of the cast and crew. I will continue to wrestle there but I am glad to be back. I've learned a variety of things during my time there. I think the big one was that in this industry, you can't trust no one. Or if you do, you have to be careful. It's helped me a lot though.
RACHEL KENSHIN: You are facing Konrad Raab in his return match to the company as well as your own. How do you feel about your match and what do you think of Raab?
(Shinobu clears his throat.)
TAKASHI SHINOBU: I feel good. I always feel good. It is a new year now and I feel better than I did last year. I've already faced the World Champion of the Championship Wrestling Coalition and it was a hard and grueling match but I was able to hold my own. It was a good test for me. Konrad Raab, is another test. Everyone knows Raab. Everyone knows the Iceman. And I say what everyone else will say, I respect him. I respect him because he doesn't rely on social media or any of that nonsense, he gets in the ring and does his stuff. He's recognized all around the world and he's been here near enough since 2015, alongside myself. I think that this match has the potential to be special.
PURORESU DAILY: What has changed since we last saw you?
TAKASHI SHINOBU: I've grown up!
(He laughed, nodding his head too.)
TAKASHI SHINOBU: I don't want to be another name that made it through the Dojo but amounted to nothing. You look at guys like Tillman and Shimada, who made it through the ranks and are now two of the biggest stars in the world. It's crazy. I want to be able to do the same but not follow the same path as them. We are all different. But I think what has changed about me is that I've grown up and realized that I need to make a breakthrough. I think that 2018 is the breakthrough year for Takashi Shinobu.
CROWN COMMITTEE REPORTER: Do you have any set goals?
TAKASHI SHINOBU: My only goal is to beat Konrad Raab. I want to take things each step at a time. Of course, I want to win things. Everyone wants to win things but that isn't going to happen all the time, you need to take things one step at a time. Right now, Konrad Raab is the only thing on my mind and I can't wait for our encounter.
RACHEL KENSHIN: Your thoughts on the topic of gaijin once again overshadowing natives?
(He paused, thinking about his answer.)
TAKASHI SHINOBU: I will work hard. That's my opinion on it. If I work hard then there is no ignoring me. If I work hard, then opportunities will come my way. Like Yuji said earlier, we have people who bitch and moan about the ratio like Shimada. But then Shimada has an army of men who are also gaijin. It's hypocritical. It's ludicrous. But it is what it is and he feels how he feels, and I get that. He's frustrated but he's in a position where he shouldn't be. He's a champion whilst the rest of us are sitting duck. But hey, times are changing - right? Tonight, there is going to be a change.
INDEPENDENT REPORTER: Do you think you can beat Raab?
TAKASHI SHINOBU: Yes. I say this not trying to be spiteful or rude, or mean. I think I can beat Raab. I know he thinks he can beat me. I have to believe I can. I do believe I can. But I know that the odds are against me and I respect that too, I still have to earn my place. But believe me when I tell you, don't count me out. Because the moment you count me out, the moment you doubt me - that's when I contradict those expectations you've set up for me. That's when I go super saiyan and onto another level. Raab may have the majority vote with predictions and whatnot. But don't count me out. Not now. Not ever. Thank you, ladies and gentlemen it has been an honor.
(He steps off of the stage.)

Post by "The Iceman" Konrad Raab on Jan 27, 2018 3:21:58 GMT
It's certainly been a while since the last time Konrad stepped into New Japan Fighting Championships, especially people have seen quite a big change in Konrad as he wasn't as big as he was, he was, in fact, a lot smaller, was there a reason for Konrad to be smaller than they last saw him months ago? Of course, they'll have to see as Konrad's not long got to Tokyo as he rushed straight to the press conference room as he had a match in the UK on Thursday night as he manages to sit down, have a sip of water before he speaks. Konrad Raab: "It's certainly been a while since I last came to Japan. It's fantastic to come here and wrestle once again and I know what's been on your mind when you saw me, am I a lot smaller than you'd seen in the past? I can easily say yes because when I went camping in August, I thought to myself, maybe I should give a Junior Heavyweight division a shot as it's the only thing I've not done in this sport now, apart from winning a trios title, but I was a heavyweight, weighing in at two-thirty, now as of right now, unless I've lost five more pounds, I'm at two fifteen which makes me suitable for the Junior Heavyweight division here." It wasn't easy for anybody to lose so much weight, but Konrad wanted to make a difference as he speaks again after taking a sip of water. Konrad Raab: "I'll eventually be two zero five by the end of next week due to the weight restrictions they have in another company where I've placed myself in a tournament for the chance to be a Junior Heavyweight title contender, I want to prove to the world that a former heavyweight can lose pounds to evolve and mold themselves to be in the division, being successful at it." Once again, Konrad pauses as he takes more sips of water, drinking quite a lot since he was on a cutting weight diet right now, especially doing some intense gym work after the press conference as he speaks about his opponent now. Konrad Raab: "Speaking of which, Takashi Shinobu is a perfect example of being in the division I dream to be in, but I respect the hell what the kid's done since he came to NJPC, especially facing and even defeating some of the top names he's faced against, but right now, he's a threat no matter what as I've got no experience of being in the Junior Heavyweight division and this is a great start to my new path of that. I've interacted a bit with him and there's nothing bad to say about the guy as he's got a ton of potential to make himself a Junior Heavyweight champion someday." Konrad was certain with every word he said about Takashi Shinobu with the match being Konrad's biggest test and he's smiling, knowing it's a training match for the upcoming CWC Junior Heavyweight tournament coming up. Konrad Raab: "As much as we'll put on a show from the fans and as much as I'm willing to learn to mold into the Junior Heavyweight style of wrestling, I also want to be a Junior Heavyweight title contender. Takashi has more experience than me in this division, but I know this match is a must and regardless of who comes out the winner, I will at least learnt so much to prepare myself to be completely ready for the CWC Junior Heavyweight tournament and also prove to James Peterson about me being in the division from here on. Of course, it's also the return of me wrestling in Japan once again." Konrad pauses once again as he tries to drink nearly a whole jug of water as apart of his diet he's trying to cut and speaks again. Konrad Raab: "It's gonna be a great challenge as Takashi is gonna bring everything towards me and I expect he'll show me tricks and tips of molding me into a high flyer, but also throw in some technical moves too. At the same time, while I expect this, you can't expect me to slack off as I will put in my one hundred percent effort into our match, making the fans remember what we've put out for the fans by tearing the house down to see who'll walk out the winner of the match. I've heard me being a favourite, but there are odds against me as well as they've never seen me in the division and this match is a real test to see if I can hang with Takashi and if I belong in this division which is a major risk for me to take." The jug of water was nearly empty now as he takes more sips before speaking once more. Konrad Raab: "Anyway, it's going to be a very respectful match as it's an honour to face a man who seems to want to be successful here in NJFC as he's been in the company as long as I have, but I must win to get rid of the doubts people have about me on a lot of things I've mentioned, but I'm doing everything to win as hard as you may try Takashi, it's not gonna be enough against The Iceman with his technical advantage. Tonight, you'll prepare yourself to be Iceinated by The Iceman." Konrad leaves the press conference room to head straight to the gym to do intense cardio training to lose weight, prepare for his match against Takashi Shinobu. He goes to his apartment 4 hours later after intense training to grab his wrestling gear before going to Tokyo Dome for his match tonight.

(Moments after Konrad Raab walked away from the podium and exited the stage, Frankie Morrison leaned over to his client, Chris Madison and whispered into his ear. The ever-confident number one contender to the NJFC World Heavyweight Championship wasted no time and took his position behind the podium. He grabbed a bottle of water from a table off to the side, twisted off the top, and took a swig before placing it atop of the podium. With his head held high, he looked over the room full of reporters, seemingly unaffected by the rapid flashes from the cameras that were pointed his way. After a few brief moments, a grin escaped and he seemed overjoyed.)
CHRIS MADISON: “Konnicchiwa minna-san! It feels great to be back here in front of all of you! The floor is all yours!”
(The first reporter to secure the challengers attention is Shelley Silver. With a pad and pen in hand, she remains standing as the rest of the room drops back down to their seats.
SHELLEY SILVER: “Chris, it's great to see you once again.”
(Madison nods his head without uttering a sound.)
SHELLEY SILVER: “Obviously this is a huge opportunity for you. After all of the success that you had in the Pride of Puroresu Crown tournament, to come up short in the finale against Chandler Scott had to be devastating.”
CHRIS MADISON: “It absolutely was devastatin’! Since day one, I have poured my blood, sweat, and tears into New Japan Fightin’ Championship. While most looked to write this company off, I have passionately defended it despite bein' looked at as just another gaijin. Losin’ to Chandler Scott was not my finest moment inside a NJFC ring. As good as Chandler is - and he’s one of the absolute best in the business - I never thought losin’ was a possibility. In my mind, I was destined to win the Pride of Puroresu Crown and become the GPC World Heavyweight Champion. But that's not how it played out. I lost, and he earned it. We both went into that match and gave it everythin’ that we had. He just happen to have a bit more in the tank than I did.”
(Rachel Kenshin rises to her feet, drawing Madison’s attention.)
RACHEL KENSHIN: “I’m sorry, but are you expecting us to forget what happened after the match was over? Your friends, Jason Cashe and Tommy Knox, made their way to the ring and surrounded Chandler Scott, giving you the perfect opportunity to pounce. You talk so highly of NJFC, but there was nothing honorable about your actions after failing to beat Chandler Scott!”
CHRIS MADISON: “Well, alright… I guess we’re not goin’ to tiptoe around this and dive right in, huh? I am not proud of my behavior followin’ my match with Chandler Scott. In the past I’ve talked about how the previous GPC World Heavyweight Champions have fallen flat on their faces after earnin’ the crown. After runnin’ through everyone put in front of him, there was no reason to not believe that NJFC fans got the kind champion that they deserve in Chandler Scott. While everyone involved should have been celebrated, they were forced to watch a desperate man act on his frustrations. Nothin’ that I say here in front of you will make up for my behavior. All I can do is promise that those kind of antics won’t take place at GLORY!”
RACHEL KENSHIN: “Well, you failed to beat Chandler Scott when the match was strictly about competition between two of the best that NJFC have been privileged to witness wrestle in our ring. Now Chandler Scott has a little more motivation. What makes you think this could be different?”
CHRIS MADISON: “What would you have me do Rachel? Come out here and act like I don’t stand a chance against Chandler Scott? Should I just pack it in and not even bother goin’ out there? No matter what motivation he has to win this match, I don’t believe that, and I’m sure there are plenty of you in this room that doesn’t believe that. I am one of the best in this business - no matter the circumstances, that doesn’t change! He can be pissed. He can hold a grudge. He can hate me for the rest of our careers. I’m not in this business to make friends. Night after night I lay it all on the line out there inside that ring, if you can’t respect that - oh well, that’s not on me. Glory presents me an opportunity to take care of unfinished business. I will not rest until I give this company the World Heavyweight Champion that it deserves!”
(Rachel Kenshin sits down, jotting notes on a pad of paper. Almost as soon as her rear end hit the seat, Ryoku Naito popped up to his feet.)
RYOKU NAITO: “Chandler Scott doesn’t seem to believe you - thinks this whole thing is one big act. He’s looking to make a statement at Glory and will surely be seaking a pound of flesh for the three on one attack that took place after earning the World Heavyweight Championship.”
CHRIS MADISON: “Honestly, I don’t give a shit. I’ve said my piece, it’s on him now. I don’t need his forgiveness. Chandler Scott showed his high and mighty self today. He’s better than me, he’s better than you, he’s better than all of us - or at least he thinks so. Chandler wants to forego a technical battle and go to war? Fine by me… I’m always ready and willin’ to go to war! His ego might be strong enough to intimidate most men and women that climb through those ropes, but it’s not goin’ to work on me. I’m not afraid to scrap with anyone. He wants his pound of flesh? He’ll have his opportunity to come and get it! But it’s goin’ to cost him that championship - mark my words!”
(Chris’s hands slid to the sides of the podium and his grip tightened as he gritted his teeth, taking one final look over at the reporters filling the room before stepping back and walking back towards Frankie Morrison. Morrison grabs Madison by the shoulders and once again whispers into his ear before the pair took their seats.)
