“What is left for me to say?”
Global Wrestling Division cameras begin to record Chris Crippler after the controversial ending at the Global Heritage tournament, having just lost to the American Justice Champion Mark Storm through interference, still wearing his ring attire with his body dripping in sweat and his long hair slicked back as he paces back and forth.
“I should be standing here the brand new American Justice Champion but I get hit with a chair from an insignificant dogs of war wannabe?” Chris sighs. “Today should have been the beginning of the end between myself and Mark Storm. I should be the champion, having my hand raised by Griffin Hawkins, broadcasting this video for the New Japan Fighting Championship with complete different philosophy. But Broseph screwed me over. The dogs of war screwed me over. This will end one way or another!”
Chris stops pacing and looks dead into the camera.
“I have had enough of seeing the same circumstance happening over and over again, Mark Storm defeating Chris Crippler, Skyfire and GWD, the story is captivating but the ending is predictable as the hero defeats the antagonist once again. The villain of this story never gets its ‘happily ever after’ ending.” Chris grabs the end of his wrist tape and pulls it off with fierce intent. “Sometimes the story needs to be rewritten to cause that little bit of unpredictability, sometimes the hero of this story might need saving, sometimes the villain needs to come out on top to show the world that the heroes comeback is the better journey than the predictable!” Chris begins to pace back and forth again. “I may not have been able to do that here tonight but over in Japan will be the day of reckoning! Sixty minute iron man match. Storm versus Crippler, Hero versus Villain, the captivating story versus the unprecedented end.”
“I am not with the Championship Wrestling Coalition, 4-Corners Wrestling, Sixth City Wrestling or any of the other big named promotions represented on this show. I’m not part of a big tag team or trio that compete over the world as a global brand. I may not be the most known guy competing on the show but when the stream ends of Fighting Spirit, people will see me in a different light as I steal the show, they won’t remember the title matches or tournament winners as there focus and memories of this show will be of one thing.” Chris stops pacing and glares at the camera. “The sixty minute iron man match!”
“We have both said that this story needs to end and even thou tonight was shambolic, I don’t intend to show disrespect to the Japanese culture and I hope you tie the rest of the dogs to a lamppost, as I want this to showcase both of our abilities as to why we are considered the best in this business!” Chris smirks. “There was a reason you had my name on a list of people you wanted to face, there was a reason why you gambled and stepped into the ring at Skyfire in the first place, it all stemmed from a simple post on social media but it ends in front of a sold out crowd in Japan with sixty minutes of pure wrestling. Storm v Crippler. I intend on walking out with everyone standing on their feet, applauding us both, but they’ll be cheering as it will be me walking out victorious and ending our tale with the hero fallen”
“I didn’t expect it to last as long as it has, Mark, I have enjoyed our ride and this truly will be the swan song of all swan songs. No titles. No contenderships, tournament winners, being the best of the promotion. Neutral ground where we can wrestle to end it all, and it will end, I’ve suffered enough defeats at your hand and for me to believe I could win might be considered stupid. But I’m not John Blade or some walkover, I’ve taken you to places you never expected to be taken, and if you think you’ve been taken to the fifth gear then you are mistaken. I’m upping my level and taking this to a whole new level. I have wrestled some of the best in the world over three decades and If this turns out to be my last appearance in Japan, I want to leave with my head held high, knowing I lost a lot of years of my career and life putting it all on the line against you, Mark. I truly mean when I say ‘stealing the show’ as there will only be one five or six star match this evening and that will be ours!”
“It will be a bitter sweet taste as I finally do what I never could and that’s beat you. I will beat you. This story has had its beginning, it has had its middle and now it deserves the best ending only we can provide!”
A vignette of the battle between Mark Storm and Chris Crippler begins to play to the music of Pop Evil’s “Take It All”, showing matches for the Skyfire Championship, the matches between the two in the GWD, footage from different uploaded streamed videos and promotional posters before the final image of the two with the NJFC emblem as the scene fades away to black.
