The People's King, [R]evolution Champion D'Angelo Blackwell walks into the conference room; he makes his way up to the podium for the first time. Blackwell is wearing a slim grey suit and has his [R]evolution Championship slung over his shoulder.
D’Angelo Blackwell: Ahem, alright, I’m not entirely used to this setup, but fire away.
COCKY AMATEUR REPORTER: So, let’s be real here. What chance do you even have of winning this match up?
Blackwell smirks at the reporter, followed by rubbing his chin.
D’Angelo Blackwell: Well, I understand that some of you won’t know me. I’ve been making waves across the globe recently, but I’m still relatively young, and I’m sure all of you caught my match with Mitsuo Shimada last week at Japan Legacy? I think that was a great first impression on a lot of these Japanese fans. Shimada and I went 35 minutes, and I proved endurance isn't’ an issue. I plan to outlast Madison and throw everything I got at him.
UK REPORTER: James Wilson, Pro Ark Magazine. I was in attendance for what is considered your debut on a major stage, which was in UK promotion Royal Wrestling Kingdom’s Destiny Royale. How far do you believe you’ve come since then?
D’Angelo Blackwell: I mean it’s been a long road. Well, not entirely. I mean that appearance was one year ago, but I’ve worked my ass off to get to where I am now, and I couldn’t be prouder of my accomplishments.
UK REPORTER: Ah, just a quick follow up. At twenty years old, how high is your glass ceiling?.
Blackwell smirks arrogantly
D’Angelo Blackwell: As high as I want it to be.
JAPANESE REPORTER: This is your second time competing in Japan and your first time competing in NJFC, how are the nerves right now?
Blackwell places his hand on his chin, thinking for a second.
D’Angelo Blackwell: Uh, I mean not that bad. I’m only nervous because I want to put on a show for these fans and not disappoint. I’m not worried about facing Madison, I’m confident in my abilities, and I’ve been searching for a more tougher challenge for weeks now. I’m sure Madison will bring it, and I hope to win.
NHK WORLD: Chris Madison is a 17-year veteran and is an absolute hardass. How do you see yourself stacking up against him? Will you be able to withstand his attacks?
D’Angelo Blackwell: It all comes down to who’s willing to go further. Madison has been in this game for 17 years and has done it all, I respect him and what he represents and I’m sure I could learn a lot from him, but I’m here to win. Madison will have to beat me into a pool of my own blood to make me give up. I’ve proven recently how big of a heart I possess. I fought Shimada for 35 minutes, flew back to Italy that same night, got attacked backstage with a lead pipe, and still went out in the main event of that night's show, defending my [R]evolution Championship against one of Madison’s old friends Darryl Walker. Another hard ass. I won that match, and I proved how far I’d be willing to go. Madison is tough, no doubt about it, but I’m going to keep throwing punches until he no longer can.
INDEPENDENT REPORTER: You’re currently doing quite well for yourself in [R]evolution and GWA. Why have you decided to join NJFC?
D’Angelo Blackwell: I want tougher challenges. I’m in this business to fight, and I’m always looking to better myself, hence why I want tougher opponents. Also, I want more of the world to know the wrestler D’Angelo Blackwell. I want to expand myself and continue wrestling in front of new audiences.
AMERICAN REPORTER: Will you be staying here after this match? Or is this a one and done?
D’Angelo Blackwell: I’ll be sticking around. There is a lot of top fighters here…. Is that all? Thank you.
Blackwell takes his [R]evolution Championship off his shoulder, he holds it in his hand, posing for the cameras, followed by leaving the room.
