"It's the nature of the beast."
After walking away from fulltime competition nearly two years ago, Knox hadn't thought much about lacing the boots up except for an occasional appearance on the side here and there. There comes a time in every individuals life when they must move on from something they've done for so long. The reasons can vary from person to person, whether it be physical or mental, all good things come to an end.
2013 would be what most consider his last real run in the sport before walking away from Action Packed Wrestling. You could say he was in his prime, and that assumption would be true. From that point forward, it has been a downward spiral that eventually led to Knox taking a gig as road agent for 4 Corners Wrestling. It wasn't the ideal situation but one that he could profit from with his business outside of the ring.
Although the ring was behind him, it truly wasn't. Over the years he had stepped back into it with one-off deals. Action Packed Wrestling hosted a reunion event in early summer 2015, in which he tagged with the well known, Chris Madison. Things didn't quite work out in their favor but those are the bricks. A few months later, we would see two individuals reunite in Fight One with no other options but to seek and destroy the opposing team, in which resulted in success.
Fast forward back to the present, we find those two individuals scheduled to compete in a tag team tournament for New Japan Fighting Championship. You could say the teaming in Fight One was a precursor for what is about to be unleashed now in Japan. Jason Cashe and Tommy Knox are no strangers to one another. In fact, they've known and worked with each other for the last decade. Teams come and go all the time, but true brotherhoods are far and few in between.

Piercing through the cracks of a set of mini blinds, rays of sunlight illuminate a hazy, smoke filled room. The room is a mess, clothes scattered throughout, littering the floor. After surveying the mess, the picture focuses on a poster hanging crooked on the far wall above a nightstand. 'INFLUENTIAL MINDS' is written in a green, graffiti font dissipating in a cloud of smoke. Underneath the poster on top of the night stand, a magazine rests. Green particles cover the magazine, outlining another set of letters which read 'AUTOPARTS'.
"Welcome to my lovely home..." A voice from the behind the camera says.
The picture then begins to spin around, catching a glimpse of a suitcase laid across a bed, half packed. Coming to an abrupt stop, a cloud of smoke engulfs the camera lens. After slowly clearing up, a face emerges from the cloud, overgrown in coarse hair.
"I hope you're ready, Japan." The man says before licking his lips and brushing the hair out of his face with his free hand. "I'm fuckin' ready..."
After propping the camera up, the man walks towards the bed and grabs a t-shirt, slowly folding it.
"Allow me to introduce myself. For those of you who don't know me, and chances are a lot of you don't, I'm Tommy Knox. It's been a good minute since I've actually done one of these so please, bear with me. Life has been somewhat hectic as of late and even more so with this tournament takin' place in Japan."
Dropping the shirt inside of the suitcase, he slowly rubs his hands together before turning back to the camera.
"I've only been to Japan once before but for nothing as big as this Tag-Team-Tropolis tournament. It doesn't matter. After walkin' away from Action Packed Wrestling in 2013, you could say my focus had transitioned into more tag team related things. I haven't been competin' in the ring on a consistent basis since then, only dippin' my toes into the water from time to time. No matter who you are, no matter what you say you're goin' to do, you'll always be back for a taste. It's the nature of the beast."
Walking over to the nightstand, he grabs a half burnt joint and places it between his lips. With the flick of his thumb, a flame ignites and burns the tip. The cherry then glows bright orange as he takes a drag, filling his lungs and opening his eyes to the world around him.
"April 30th is a day that I've been lookin' forward to for a few weeks now. Sure, there are other days I could look forward to, like my birthday a week earlier, but those things come every year. Not often do opportunities like this present themselves and when they do, you grab that bitch by the back of the head and fuck the shit out of it.
Who we will face is a mystery for the most part. Only round one is certain and after that, it's every man (or woman) for themselves. That's how a lot of you are probably lookin' at this but it's more than just oneself. This is about teamwork, it's about unity, but more importantly, it's about forming a bond with the person in your corner and I can almost guarantee that no other team can even come close to what Jason Cashe and I possess as a cohesive unit inside of that ring.
I want each and every one of you to pay close attention when KashVille steps into the ring with Velimir Radinovic and Xavier Hulsemann, also known as the World's Most Dangerous. Sounds serious, right? I had to do a double take when I saw the lineup myself. I learned a long time ago not to judge a book by its cover so we can skip the lack of originality when it comes to the team name. The only thing any of us can do is let our actions speak for us inside of the ropes.
Don't let your mouth write checks that your ass can't cash."
