The scene opens up on a quiet Wednesday morning, it's very early. The sun is still down, but we hear the upcoming footsteps of somebody. The pitch black scene gives us no clue as to who is coming, we only hear the footsteps grow louder and louder. Suddenly, the camera light picks up a blurred figure. Approaching the camera at a rapid pace, the image finally clears up enough to show Bryan Williams jogging up to the camera. He sucks in a deep breath, as he stroll up into frame. Looking like somebody prepared for a long run, Bryan rests his hands on top of his head as he begins to speak.
”It wasn't that long ago that I was tag champions in two companies, I worked my ass off to be known as one of the better tag team specialists out there. I fought hard for those belts, and my opponents knew that. When the opportunity came up to compete against many other teams in this tournament, I couldn't stay away. As much as I tried to, the chance at testing myself again was just too strong."
Bryan takes another deep breath, adjusting his bandana as he speaks.
”I've seen the talent signed up here, all walks of life coming in to get a shot at those tag titles. A mishmash of different teams, already established superstars, it's a very eclectic group of teams in this tournament. Some of these people I know very well, people I've already been in the ring with before. People I've already defeated, or have been beaten by. Guys like Cyrus Riddle, Jett Wilder, Bryan Laughlin, Jason Cashe, Jason Davidson, these were names that immediately stood out to me. I wasn't surprised to see them, the thought of getting into the ring with these guys again really stood out to me. I even saw a few of my friends sign up, Terry McKenna and Anastasia Hayden, but this did not deter me. This did not stop me from signing up, because it's people like this that will test my resolve. Test my partner's will, and show us where we truly belong in the grand scheme of things."
Another pause.
”There are many teams that I am still unfamiliar with, and those people are always the toughest. Getting into the ring with somebody for the first time, you're unsure of yourself and what you should do. You try to game-plan everything, but that all changes once you get rocked the first time. So what does a guy like me do, should I play it safe this whole tournament? Should I hold back just a little, in hopes that I make it as far as I possibly can? Or do I go all out, do I give every single thing I have and just hope that Sativa and I make it to the end. You see that pot of gold at the end of the road, and it becomes real tempting. Real easy to sit back and think that you should just run for it, ignoring everything around you. Unfortunately for everybody in this tournament, I don't need to rush. I don't need to sit back and worry about what I'm going to do. I already know what I'm capable of, and how I've been tested time and time again in this ring. It does not matter where I am, North America ... England ... Japan, because the results are always the same."
He's no longer winded, instead he smiles into the camera.
”I'm a winner, and I've got the history to back it up. The partners I've picked, we've all gone to success, and now on April Thirtieth I will bring another person to that gold. I will capture another title, and once again prove how much I do belong here. I will bring pride, and honor to New Japan Fighting Championship. I will give them a team that they can count on, and be proud of. So many people, so many teams have come out of the woodwork looking for glory. I see a bunch of hungry guys, but they're all shortsighted. They don't understand the magnitude of what's happening, of what's actually in front of them. A leviathan is coming to Japan, a Kaiju the likes they have never seen. There is no stopping me, no stopping Sativa. Our path leads to those titles being placed around our waists. It's only a matter of days now, wasted moments of other teams trying to prepare for the inevitable."
Bryan smiles again, and winks. He looks around, almost like he's getting ready to run off again. Before he does, he leaves us with a few parting words.
”Japan is the destination, and those GPC World Tag titles are the goal. I see the light at the end of the tunnel, and I can only wait so much longer. I'm ready, I'm prepared, and come this Saturday you are looking at one half of your new GPC World Tag Team champions. I'll see you all very ... very soon."
Another smile, and Bryan jogs off out of the frame. We again are left with silence, and darkness as the scene fades out.
