Solitude. Gaia Galanos inhaled then exhaled as the light in the boiler room cast a red, devil-like glow upon her face. Sitting there silently, Galanos methodically wound knuckle tape around her hands. Gaia had become fond of the boiler room of late thanks, in part, to Magdalena Waechter. Fuck changing with a bunch of prima donnas.
As her mind wandered back to the press conference from the night prior, Konrad Raab hadn’t even had enough respect for her to show up personally. Instead, he had sent his trainer. Her jawline tightened as she shook her head; disgusted. It appeared Raab was nothing more than a fucking coward. Even worse, it appeared neither the Iceman nor his ever-so-important trainer understood that this wasn’t a traditional cage match. Gaia had specifically asked to be in an MMA fight otherwise she wouldn’t have agreed to fight in NJFC.
Fact of the matter was Gaia just wanted to pummel someone’s face into the ground, but she had gotten lucky when NJFC had booked her against a man with the legacy of Konrad Raab. A small smirk broke across her beautiful yet strong features. Now, she knew something about Raab that was valuable: he was scared of the cage. A toothy grin now took the place of her smirk. After she was done with him, Konrad Raab, despite how good he is, was, or will be would really have a reason to be afraid of the cage after Gaia was finished with him. The old fart would have Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder after tonight.
Her mind wandered for a moment to Madman Szalinski as she thought about Pat Gordon, Jr.’s words on Monday night. She had beaten the hell out of her former mentor back in Girl Power Wrestling. Normally that would be whatever, but he had cancer. She had beaten him down to ensure he wouldn’t enter the ring again and put himself in danger. The smile faded from her face. Any happiness she had felt vanished and was replaced by sadness which gave way to anger. Unfortunately, her plan had backfired because Pat Gordon, Jr. had informed her that Madman had no intention to seek treatment for his lymphatic cancer. The thought saddened and angered her at the same time as tears welled up into her icy blue eyes.
Now, she found herself on the fast track to a Towel Match with Pat Gordon, Jr., the man she had grown up with and learned to become a professional wrestler alongside. Gaia considered him the brother she never had, and now she would have to destroy him. But, that was a story for a later time. Her current story was about how The Event Horizon would consume The Iceman, and then he would have a better reason to fear the structure they’d square off in.
Like professional wrestling, MMA had always been a dream of Gaia’s. In high school, she had been quite successful as an amateur wrestler, and even more recently, she had picked up some Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu from her ex-boyfriend, Eddie Ramirez. Not to mention, when it came to knee strikes, Gaia Galanos was second-to-none. The Seismós Strike was among the most devastating moves in professional wrestling yesterday, today, or tomorrow. She could literally hit it out of anywhere. Best example? Her recent match against a woman known as “The Alpha Bitch” Jacqui Monroe. Well, she was The Alpha Bitch. Jacqui had TRIED to block her patented Brainbuster so Gaia completely switched it up on her and caught her with the knee strike out of a suplex position.
Madman had been a different story altogether. When he fell, she had pounced and relentlessly rained punches on him. Truth is, she had wanted to stop, but she had to win. She had to win. Gaia lowered her head, allowing a single tear to fall silently to the dingy floor of the boiler room. She swallowed hard and gritted her teeth angrily. Tonight would a simple yet important purpose. Stefan or Konrad Raab whatever he wanted to go by would serve as an outlet for all of the fucked up emotions she had been going through lately. He would serve to prepare her for the battle that would be Gaia Galanos versus Pat Gordon, Junior. And, Raab had no choice in the matter because the moment that fighting cage door closed, he would be trapped. Trapped like a scared, little rabbit with a lioness licking her jowls from across the ring. Okay, so maybe not a rabbit. Konrad Raab wasn’t a professional wrestler because he was some innocent, little bunny, but no matter what he was, he would be leaving that ring bloodied and battered. Gaia figured she would too though. In fact, her past few matches, she had walked out of the arena with a crimson mask on her face. She was accustomed to that kind of mess now, and even had embraced it at this point.
