Hiroyoshi Suzuki: Owen Gonsalves, Bryan Williams, James Edwards, Jack Tillman, Ricky Valero, Benny Stevens, Jessica Sears, Craig Anderson, Takashi Shinobu, Bianca Reed, Devin Hearst, Ace King, Otaki, Anastasia Hayden, Toshikazu.
All names he was familiar with. A pool of talent brought together to represent New Japan Fighting Championship's global position as the worlds most versatile wrestling promotion, something that couldn't be debated, not in the eyes of Hiroyoshi Suzuki who remained standing with his back against the camera, looking up at a poster for the Global Takeover event. A glimmer in his eyes, perhaps a glimmer of hope that everything works out the way he wants them to, the way he plans it to. But he knew far too well that plans don't always come to fruition.
Hiroyoshi Suzuki: What we have here is a breed like no other, a rare breed within our community - a group of men and women who are prepared to step out of their comfort zone, and fight for global recognition, because that's the opportunity that has been presented to us. To represent New Japan Fighting Championship on a global level, fighting for the NJFC Global Championship; one of the most coveted titles in all of professional wrestler, whether you'd like to admit it or not, it has earned that honor from it's predecessors, who've held the title with pride. And what we all hope to do, is represent it with pride ourselves, represent this promotion to the best of our ability.
I believe that this is going to be one of the greatest spectacles of the year. It has to be, you look at the names involved and you can't tell me that you're not excited for the potential dream matches that may come forth. Everybody's already talking about their favorites, already laying out their predictions but that's all they are, assumptions of what's not happened, and they could be very wrong. I find myself in a rather divided position. Among natives, I'm Favorited but among others, I'm known less so immediately, I've been pushed to the background, becoming a side note, someone people aren't aware of and because of that, don't see me standing a chance.
But what they don't know is, I'm ultimately one of the most deadly, one of the most lethal wrestlers on the planet. But they will know that, after Global Takeover, they'll never forget that fact. They've got all their money on the gaijan with good reasoning. They come here with experience, and are globally known but are they prepared? Are they familiar with our art? With our way? The art of puroresu, something that only a special few among us are capable of delivering with precision, with execution, with perfection. I am, the master of perfection. Someone who's mastered his craft and at Global Takeover, I'll display it on a global stage for the world to see.
Despite the world seeming to be against him, Suzuki remained confident in his own ability believing that he has what it takes to come out of Global Takeover with the championship strap that everybody so desperately desired. Something they all craved, but he questioned: did they all crave it more than me? No chance was his answer. He turned back to the camera and his smile was warm, his eyes engaged.
Hiroyoshi Suzuki: You doubt me now, but that's fine, I'm honestly OK with that. Because I know that in a days time, I will deliver and I will shock the world with the performance I put on, with what I bring to the table. What we have here is a match for the history books in the first round between myself and Owen Gonsalves, someone who is accomplished, young, hungry and raring to go. Someone who backs his talk with what he can do in the ring and as we saw at A New Hope, is settled to chill with the heavyweights of this promotions, fitting right into the division and this promotion.
It's going to be a classic, I'm sure of it. But I'm also going to win, I'm sure of that. Owen steps into Japan as a rookie and this is my playground, and in my playground, it's my rules and my rules only. He can wrestle with the best of them that's for sure and I know he's going to push me to my limits, but it won't be enough. This is his induction, Chris Madison was his starter pack but this, this is his real induction, his real test against a representative of the puroresu art, a strong style phenomenon, the master of perfection.
That goes for anyone who comes across me in this tournament. What they're up against in the real deal and I want them to know that before they underestimate me, before they doubt me from going all the way to the finals, I want them to know that I am, the real deal. And not even the stiffest of strikes is going to break me. No holds are going to get me tapping. This tournament, was designed for me and by God, I'll do whatever it takes to emerge the new Global Champion of New Japan Fighting Championship.
The scene cut to black.
